Tall golden yellow to orange. Slow to establish then vigorous. Tolerates heat and drought, long flowering season, spreading. Easily weaves through other perennials, attractive with Queen Fabiola, Babiana and Spuria iris.

Small evergreen tree, fairly slow growing, attractive flowers and fruit in early spring at the same time. Foliage is less dense if underwatered, but survives quite dry conditions. Creates considerable shade and self mulching underneath. Looks beautiful with a large-flowered Clematis growing through the branches.
