This is a three year old which is now reblooming and I have to make the decision to register it or compost it. The only problem with it is its size (4.50 inches), if it were 5 inches or 3 inchs (mini) I wouldn't hesitate about registering it. I have three from the same cross lined out, all about the same size, I like this form, pattern and green throat better than the other two, they will not be registered. Feedback please, to register or compost.

Register it and call it a butterfly. Many of the ones I get called butterflies are that size and I love them. By all means do NOT NOT NOT compost it send it to me or sell it on the auction. It looks somewhat like Rings of Wonder which I love and it is not big at all.

I think that's a great idea! I have three "Butterfly" daylilies, although I've only had one of them bloom for me. I just looked them up, and BLUEBIRD BUTTERFLY (my bloomer) is 4"/28" tall, AZURE BUTTERFLY is 4"/31" tall, and VIVID BUTTERFLY (sent to me by Floyd Cove as a gift this spring) is 4.75"/36" tall. So your bloom size is right in there.

Oh my GOODNESS!! I'm going to make a trip to your garden and raid your compost pile if you compost the first or second ones. The others are great, too but the first too are awesome.

I grow about 80 pots of a cross of Cherry Valentine x Lady Betty Fretz and they are all around 4-4.5 inches and they have stood out this year in my garden. They are beautiful and I'm looking for some plants to cross with them to keep them this size and yours would be perfect perfect perfect!!!!

Ok Michele, I know you are out there, keep a watch on Fred and get that plant for me!!!!!! Please!!!!!

All three flowers are about the same size. This one has a scape 26 inchs tall with 3-4 way branching, have not counted the buds. I also have it listed as a dormant so it may do better north than it does for us. I will look at the other two one more time when they rebloom. Thanks for the feedback.
This will be registered this fall, a three year old with a tall scape good branching and bud count with a 5 inch bloom. Will have all the stats after rebloom.

I like your orange one Fred, but then orange is my favorite color.

As to the above patterned seedlings, I also like the third one, it really does look like Rings of Wonder. Still love the first one most though, is it fertile?

I really like the first seedling posted that you were thinking of composting. I would add to the voice to register it but I am partial to the lighter mark on the sepals. The curl towards the base of the petals is also very appealing.

I have some seedlings blooming but I'm only going to post one. I'll post the others when they have better blooms.

I absolutely love this one. The photo just doesn't show the detail of coloring well. There is a very light, thin orange eye and there is hints of orange on the ruffles (you can see some of that in the photo). The texture is so thick and the bloom is about 6.75" (7" if you actually measure where the sepal didn't curl down, but we'll see how that goes in later blooms). The scape is very short right now just like most of the first scapes have been on all the daylilies, so we'll see what it does on rebloom. Sense of Wonder is a short one so it may not get taller.
I kept going back and looking at it all day (was at James' from 8am -7pm) to see if it still looked good and it holds up really well in the sun and heat.
