When I saw 'Treebeard' and 'Legolas' (first at Young's and then in Lynn's box!), I knew there had to be a series. LTR is probably my all time favorite "read," so you know I'll have to find them all eventually... so thanks for this thread!

Gildor & Gondor were the Twin Cities, Butterbur is an inkeeper who is more wise than he lets on, and Fredegar "Freddie" Bolger is a sensible hobbit who figures into the very first and last parts of the story.

(I think "Gabrielle" might have been a sidekick character in "Zena, Warrior Princess" )

We are trying to track down any others that Betty Bronow named after the LTR characters. So far all of them in the ATP database are her semps.

I see Erwin Geiger is the hybridizer of 'Galadriel', it sure is a beauty. I emailed Erwin to see how he came about the name.

Jill if you do a search in the sempervivum search tool, using the Series field, type in Lord of the Rings. It will bring up all the plants in our database that are part of that series.

Sorry, one site had Bronow listed as the hybridizer of 'Galadriel'.... nope, I stand corrected, I didn't look closely enough at the comments, which seem to be about how if anybody wants to find more LOTR names they should check out Bronow's series.

I do like the flexible system Dave came up with for managing the ATP data base(s)

A wonderful series made into a great movie/movies! If you ever have the time watch the movies.
