If you were planning on, for any reason, viewing the rose garden part of Munsinger/Clemem's (rose part) gardens do not waste your time.
If they had 12 dozen flowers, 10 dozen are dead, this is not an exaggeration.

I spoke with an employee in the garden junk shop what happened; I did not get there at all last summer.
She said two years ago they had a bad disease problem.
So I asked how many people they had working there and she said they had 24 people on the garden board; with 4 people in charge of the roses with a senior "rose expert" in charge of those.
I said they had, had a serous black spot problem for years, and she said that she was not part of the garden care group but that yes they had had problems for quite some time now.
Then I said if they are planting new roses in old soil over and over they are just beating their head s against a wall, and she gave one of those odd facial looks of I know more than I am saying or should say and she said "yes, I think that is what she is doing"
She got a phone call so I let her do her work.

As I left I saw that in the area where the shrub/bush roses were doing OK, it was FULL of long quake grass going into seed.
Ever since Mrs. Clemens and here husband died that part of the garden has been going down hill which will soon be closer to ten than five years.
The original Munsinger Garden, down by the river, looks pretty good but different people take care of that.

The garden has now been replanted with new roses.
Some are blooming.

Went for a walk in the rose garden on a beautiful mild day.
They must have bought the new roses by the half dozen or more of each variety as there are many repeats.
Some new ones are already bare from disease and if who ever is in charge does not change her attitude, they will be dying by the dozen soon enough.

One of the old surviving roses was nothing but sucker canes, three feet high D'Oh!
They should have dealt with it but 3 of my roses this year, put out sucker canes and I have never had that many in one year ever do it before; acutally I rarely have to deal with that.

The non rose part of the gardens was very, very nice, with some type of Rudbeckia lining one sidewalk on both sides up to eight feet tall.
Butterflies and Bumbles were busy even with the high wind.
The Bumble seemed to like to go for the highest which were waving in the wind.

Maybe once she gets her knee fixed things will change but now even if Sharon comes, she sits in the car while I walk by myself.
That was probably the nicest day of the entire summer for weather, but I will have to try to get there again by my self and spend more time as with the below average cold coming it may come to an end quickly.

I drove by it two weeks ago and it was in full bloom -- by that I mean many bushes were blooming at the same time.
I have not visited it yet this year, I will have to wander over and have look see by myself as Sharon seems to have lost all interest in viewing it.

When I do go with her , she just sits in the car. Shrug! Sighing!
