Thread OP

I have planted tulips, daffodils and other spring bulbs every year in the fall, it doesnt matter where or what kind of soil, it still blooms 2 to 3 weeks later than everyone else's. This last fall, i made sure to plant them deep enough but it's barely coming out now compared to other peoples spring bulbs.
Ive planted in full sun, partial sun and shade. Last year i lived in a different city and i had the same problems :/ Theyre all late! What's wrong?

Have no idea where you are, but February was a very cold month here. March seems to be on track for milder than normal. For a while, spring blooms were a good week behind. You don't tell us when you planted the bulbs. I have found that bulbs planted late in the fall often bloom later in the spring.

It's been my experience that newly planted bulbs bloom later than those planted in previous years. I have quite a few daffodils that I planted years ago, and they frequently are finished blooming by the time the most recent ones were planted.

Locations on a property can have different mini-climates. I have observed this year almost a three-week difference in the blooming period of Tete a Tete narcissus. Against a south-facing wall, it was earliest. Ten feet away, it started a week later. A few blocks away, it started over two weeks later. All are definitely Tete a Tete; all, established plantings.
