No its not an avocado. I don't know what else it could be. Can you tell us more? Where did it come from (store, nursery, volunteered)? Did you grow it from a seed? Can you post a photo of the entire plant? How big are the leaves?

I will post more pictures tomorrow. Plant is now about 2 years old, found it about 4 inches high, thrown away by someone, and almost dying. It is now about 6-8 feet high, but very wide, it grows more like a bush that a tree. Leave are from 3 to 8-9 inches long.

I have never seen this tree, sorry. Shrug! Perhaps a persimmon but this is a very wild and tentative guess.

It does look a lot like a persimmon, but it is lacking the buds at the leaf junctions that mine has.

Well, there are hundreds of types of persimmon, so they are not all identical. Smiling

Yes. If we can't positively ID it from the leaves, then perhaps a bloom or fruit will help. Good luck with your plant!

The structural scales evident on all parts of the plant point to Elaeagnus sp., as noted previously. There are more than a couple members of this genus, and there are likely related genera/species.

I certainly don't know what might be found in Israel, nor zone 11 conditions - but someone could likely search that easily enough.

It seems that Elaeagnus philippinensis is a synonym for Elaeagnus triflora - at least according to the Plants Database here:

Elaeagnus triflora

There are no images listed there yet, so you may be the first! A google search indicates that a common name for that plant is Lingaro, and that the fruits are edible.
