Thread OP

I started potting lilies last year to get them off the rabbit and deer's menu. The first bloom they were great (see pictures)
But this year so far the plants--while seemingly healthy--are producing tiny flowers with weak colors. (see pictures)
They have been regularly fertilized with Miracle Grow tomato fertilizer that always worked well when they were in the garden. Yesterday I whipped up a batch of high phosphorus liquid fertilizer with, charcoal filtered water, a PH of 6.5. My thinking is that perhaps they needed something not in the high nitrogen formula of Miracle Grow.
Thoughts?

I think the lilies in the second pic are a different variety, the ones in the first pic are Asiatic, I believe. The second could be a Turks cap, or another variety of Asiatic. The lighter lily hanging down in the first pic appears to be a longiforum.
It sounds like they've had plenty of fertilizer, and look it too, from the third pic! They look extremely healthy. I tip my hat to you.

Thread OP

Ah, I think I understand what is happening. I didn't have a picture of the lilies in question but put up a typical lily from the display last year (first picture).
To identify the lily in question I went back to Breck's website and accessed my account. I believe that the reason I thought these lilies were underwhelming was that I had not seen them before. They appear to be part of a lily mixture that included, as you noted, Asiatic with 4" to 5" flowers--pretty much what I am seeing. For some reason, they didn't bloom last season.
In any event, thank you both for your comments. They were spot on.

You're welcome!
For me Asiatics are the easiest to grow. I have a huge stand of the Asiatics, Blackout, I think.

Nice lilies Dennis. Your second picture looks to be 'Corsage', an asiatic lily.
