Had my porch roof painted today and the guy used a sprayer to do it. The wind blew paint over most of the leaves of one of my Firefighter rose plants. I tried to remove, at least, some of it by wiping with a soapy cloth, but, to no avail. Should I remove some leaves so it produces new ones or should I leave it alone? The paint is not completely covering the leaves, just misted over most of them. I don't have a pic right now, but, could put one in later if needed.

Is it oil based or water based paint?

Water based. Sorry, didn't think to put that in my message.

I would leave it alone. Almost anything you might do to help would probably just traumatize it more.

The weather will wear it off soon enough. Plus it's fall and going into winter which means the roses will be dormant soon. No leaves to worry about and it'll all be gone by the time Spring rolls around.

Amanda and Porkpal....thanks. I was so worried when I saw tiny dots of white paint all over my rose plant. I hope it doesn't harm it too much. Most of the leaves have this on them, but, I wasn't able to get it off. I'll keep an eye on it.

Being water based and end of season it won't hurt the rose. It will wear off, trust me. We have rain storms and snow storms that will wash it off and by the time spring arrives it will be mostly gone if not all the way gone. What's left by then can either be pruned off or maybe wiped off with peroxide or something like that.
