Thread OP

Hi! I would appreciate some help with my spider plant. I've had it for a while and propagated many other plants from it that are doing just fine, but this one I can't seem to keep alive. I didn't water it for a couple weeks around 6 months ago and it turned yellow and I can't seem to bring it back to life with regular waterings. Also my cat used to chew on it but now it's hanging so I don't have that problem anymore. Any thoughts?

Back to life, meaning, its too limp?
Did you try soaking? After six weeks, did the water just run off rather than soak in? edit, oops, read on-
Plant it and they will come.

My thoughts too, give it a good soak and drain, it'll be fine.

That's still an awesome looking plant.

What kind of pot is it in?

Only 2 weeks without water. Green Grin!
Looks like the 2 weeks without water may have had something to do with the yellowing, then again, I often go that long in both summer and winter. Whatever caused it to yellow, that won't turn back to green. You can leave them or remove them.

It certainly doesn't look dead at all, it actually looks pretty good, unless it's an old photo.

I agree
Pull off those yellow ones and you'll probably be surprised at how good it looks.

My first reply was rushed but these fine folks have addressed everything I would've.

As Calif_Sue mentioned the yellowing leaves won't come back to healthy.

I'd trim them off if the coloring bugs you or as the tips start to brown.
They'll be replaced in no time.

Assuming the less energy the plant has to use supporting spent leaves is more energy it can use producing new growth.

Was reading through all this and I agree, remove the yellow leaves they won't get better. That way you can see if the leaves are continuing to turn yellow. If they do you might try putting the plant in a different location. I had one like that were I removed the leaves, then moved the whole plant to a new location. The leaves stopped turning yellow and the plant made a full recovery. You should listen to the others as they are very knowledgeable about fixing ailing plants. I just couldn't stop myself from throwing in my 2 cents. Shrug!
Tis is what my sick spider pant looks like now
