I have noticed a few examples in the Echeveria database where the species page has pictures of their hybrids. These pictures of the hybrids should get moved to their respective places. For example in the Blue Echeveria (Echeveria secunda) page there are a lot of mislabeled photos which are Blue Rose (Echeveria 'Imbricata') , which is a secunda hybrid (secunda x metallica).
A good rule of thumb here is that 'Imbricata' has wider, more spatulate leaves than secunda. Secunda usually has pointed leaves, and is a smaller plant.
Here is a comparison.

Another example is the Echeveria (Echeveria purpusorum) page, which has a lot of mislabeled photos of the more common E. purpusorum hybrid, Echeveria 'Dionysos' . This is not surprising because E. 'Dionysos' is commonly sold as E. purpusorum in garden centers.

A good rule of thumb here is that 'Dionysos' has more obtuse leaves, with less intense markings compared to purpusorum.
The TRUE purpusorum

V.S. 'Dionysos'

Another example is the Mexican Firecracker (Echeveria setosa) page, which has many mis-identified photos of a common setosa hybrid, E. 'Doris Taylor'.

A good rule of thumb here is that 'Doris Taylor' has longer, less spathulate leaves, and more dense hairs due to its pulvinata parentage. In general, 'Doris Taylor' has a looser rosette than the true species.

This is 'Doris Taylor'

This is the true setosa

I agree about the entries for 'Dionysos' and will be moving those to that database entry tomorrow. I have also moved the image of 'Doris Taylor' ... I had commented on that image already but not gotten as far as making the move.

Thank You!

These are the images that I will be moving from the entry for Echeveria segunda to the entry for E. 'Imbricata' based on input from @Castello_decorum (as always, thank you for the eagle eye).

Here are the two database entries for easy comparison:

Blue Echeveria (Echeveria secunda)
Blue Rose (Echeveria 'Imbricata')

And here is a reliable summary of where the named hybrid came from, for the curious. Apparently it is not clonal.

Since these images were contributed by various members, I am tagging them here to let them know of this change (and as always, feel free to comment, question, or disagree)...

I think the last plant is another hybrid, not 'Imbricata' (judging by the thicker leaves and the bifurcated flower stalk). Smiling I would guess that it has some gibbiflora genes, but I don't know what it is.

I moved that image to genus entry.

Thank You!
