Thank you so much. When it started to open I realized that it was quite special. Next year I will grow it in the greenhouse and be pollinated.

Since my wife and I moved apart I decided to move back to the county I grew up. Lilies have been a huge hobby for me I dug most of them up and took them with me. But I had no place to plant them. But thanks to my mum I could plant the lilies in my old kitchen garden where the soil is perfect for lilies. I have no greenhouse now and will not be able to do any hybridizing this year, all the lilies I have been using for pollination have been planted out together with seedlings. Some pictures:

Last years seedlings still in the boxes from last year. They are doing well. I only hope we'll have sunshine.

My new hobby. I was beekeeper for 15 years but have not had bees for 9 years. Finally I am a beekeeper again.

Lots of flowers to look forward to. Do you find that a greenhouse is necessary to get pods to set successfully in your climate?

Thank you, everyone Smiling

Our summer are often a little cold or wet. We can have temperatures up to 35 C but only a few days. I can get good pods on asiatics and early trumpets but OTs I have not got good seeds from yet. This year I have sown lily seeds in boxes outside, but low temperature and plenty of rain have delayed the germination for weeks.

Anthony; I have many seedlings from your seeds that will bloom this year. Looking foreward to see the flowers.

Sounds like our summers. When I eventually build a greenhouse I'll be interested to see what kind of difference it makes to hybridising efforts.
