A greenhouse is advantageous even just for bringing a lily "in" during the pollination period. Even when a growing season is long enough, sometimes the luck of the draw brings nasty weather right at pollination time.

Like last night's heavy down pour! Of course mine are 'in ground', but if I grew them in pots, I'd move them in for pollination. Warmer, nearly hot temperatures produce the best, most complete pollination and maybe even some that wouldn't come about if left outside. Late pollinations, like the ones I'm doing now would also benefit from the extra 30 to 40 days to ripen the seed. I use mine a lot to give my newly planted seedlings a boost in the Spring and an extended growing period in the Fall.

But don't think greenhouses come 'carefree'. You don't get all these benefits for nothing. A well run, clean greenhouse is a lot of work.

I think the hybridising benefits will be worth the steep learning curve. nodding

I think this are a OT seedling or a hybrid from Brian Bergman, can't remember.

This is a OT seedling but not my own, Ole Larsen send me some small bulbs from his best OT seedlings. We have had plenty of rain the last weeks that have not been good for the lilies.

Trumpet or OT seedling. I know that I have sown seeds from L. sargentiae hybrid x OT pollen, it might be a seedling from that cross. Quite big flower.
