One of my favorites is the Orange Jasmine tree (Murraya paniculata). I have three of them which bloom at least 8-10 times a year and you can smell the fragrance across the street.
The height is between 12-15 feet. This is a big butterfly, and bee attraction. I stood under one of the trees about two weeks ago, when it was in full bloom; closed my eyes and just listened. The soft hummmmm of the bees (I have a lot of Mason bees) was beautiful. I do what I can to attract the butterflies and a lot of times I will raise the Monarchs.
Another fragrance I love is my sweet Almond tree. Again, this one blooms a number of times during the year. There are other plants that I love and for their fragrance, but they're shorter lived; my Don Juan climbing rose, for instance. Since I live in Florida, a lot of fragrancy from plants (flowers) don't last too long.

I said that before I received a rose-scented geranium and a couple of other scented pelargoniums in a plant trade. Oh, my, no need for perfume when you can rub the leaves on these.

It's in the morning when I smell them most. There are these tiny little hoverflies that are crazy about them and never seem to leave them. Don't get too close--they'll give your nose and chin a little nip if you hover too close for too long, I've learned.

I always can smell them, love the scent. Once I was at the bingo hall and they had the door open and the tons of them planted outside was drifting in.
I love them as well for their beauty and how they last up until fall.

When I lived in Ca. there was jasmine right outside my bedroom sliding door, it was wonderful! We also use to drive by the orange grove when
they were smelling great. Lilacs is my favorite. And I love my essential oils in the house and am addicted to sandalwood.

I understand Sandalwood will knock you right to sleep.
Sometimes I could use that!

I like the little alyssum guys for their carpeting effect.
Truly purple ones are my favorite but they too often come out pink.
I have killed all the "lawn" that came with my house and am trying to replace it with low growing flowers - mostly for the bees.
I have a pound of white clover already and will be getting a pound of bird's foot trefoil.
Think I'll throw some white alyssum on the list, too!

Very cool plants, Tarev.

Funny, but I didn't even know that orchids are scented. *Blush*

I didn't know orchids were scented either--and didn't realize freesias had a scent worth planting for. What do freesias smell like?

For freesia's, it is like a sweet perfume, the kind of smell you like to really inhale once you get a whiff of it.

Tarev, these are quite beautiful! Thumbs up

Not all orchids are scented. In my small collection of 17, only one of them has a scent that I'm aware of...Still waiting on a couple to bloom for me for the first time though.

@tarev A few years ago I lost my zygopetalum. It had such a lovely scent. I'm going to have to go back to my favorite orchid greenhouse to purchase a new one.

I'm burying my face in the bridal wreath spirea this week. It's an unusual spring with some daffodils still blooming, the lilacs hanging on, the spirea covered with blooms, and irises about to open. What a fragrant combination!
