At least you have your priorities straight!

Darn right about the garden coming first. But that is why I have such a lovely garden and my house was a mess all summer.

I end up with piles of bulbs all over the living room as I stack and sort them according to were they get planted. And of course it makes a mess. So any cleaning of the living room will not be for a long time yet.

But no Sandy this year!!!

It is raining now, was very windy all day. They say thundershowers overnight and could be a lot of rain.

I am waiting on my big bulb order from Van Engelen. Then I will sort and living room will look like a bulb shop until I get them all planted.

Picked tomatoes and had enough to give some to my neighbor plus ones for me. I simply can not believe it. All these tomatoes I am still getting and here it is October 9th.

Waiting for the last of my bulbs to arrive. They were shipped already so will be here soon. After I sort them I will be planting. Lots of bulbs still to do in bulb planting part II. In fact more bulbs than in bulb planting part one back in September.

Good memory Debra. Part one 4,500 bulbs. Part two 5,500 bulbs. Fortunately there small bulbs also like crocus which are relatively easy to plant. Now I am looking forward to seeing all the blooms come spring but the crocus start the show and by next spring I will have a yard full of crocus. Can't wait. Plus they are plant once and they come up forever. I like that!

My new kitchen rug that I ordered on Amazon. I really like it.


New kitchen faucet that the plumber put in yesterday as the old one was leaking. Actually it was running so I really needed a new one.


I have two kitchen windows. Managed to get the new curtains up on one of them.


Still cleaning. Washed walls and washed old curtains that were on the kitchen door and the door to the basement.

Still getting tomatoes!

My Bulbs came! Here they are stacked up on the porch after delivery before I dragged them inside.



Now I have to sort them. I put piles together depending on which garden bed they go in. All before I plant. Otherwise planting just doesn't work for me. My living room looks like a mess of bulbs until I get done.

I really like your rug! Love the colors in it. Warm, inviting.

Eeek! I just got my tiny little shipment of bulbs planted yesterday and my back is killing me!

Thanks Juli, I liked it as soon as I saw the picture at Amazon and the colors go perfectly with my kitchen.

Woofie, I really got carried away with the bulbs this year. I plant a lot each year but this year is truly too much. But I have a lot of bulbs that will come back year after year forever so I was just not able to resist ordering them all. Will start sorting them later today so that I know what goes where and group them together.

You are obviously braver, younger and more dedicated than I! (Not necessarily in that order! )

I am 66 and getting too old for all this planting. Honestly part of the reason I bought so much this year is that I have mostly bulbs that will return year after year. So my thinking was plant them and then enjoy them in my old age.

I do love, love, love tulips. But many kinds don't return for me. Last year researched all sorts of classes of tulips that would return for sure and planted many of those types. Found I really like them so this year ordered LOTS more!

and i am so looking forward not just to the photos next year but to the information the year after that on which ones actually did come back
