It is 13 right now with a strong wind; as soon as I am done typing here I will go out an blow snow. Good thing about the wind is I can turn the spout straight up and let the wind carry it away.

Sub-zero 7 of the next ten days night time temperatures, with -18 , supposedly, the coldest but that is normal for here, with sub-twenties just as common.
Supposed to snow again tonight so I will not blow off the parking lot/drive way just the side walk; I should shovel by hand but an too darn lazy so I will use the blower. I tip my hat to you.

We have about 4 inches of new snow, but I'm happy to say that tonight the temp will be a balmy 15°F and the lowest low for the next couple of weeks is predicted to be 5°F. I usually put plastic film over our windows (inside) but haven't done that yet since the weather has been so mild; maybe that will be tomorrow's project - it not only keeps the house a little warmer, but we get a LOT of condensation on the windows otherwise, to the point of doing some damage to the window frames (especially in the kitchen).

We got about 4" so far and still snowing and blowing. They are projecting -5 tonight and than down to the -20's until Saturday. Three of the days minuses for daytime temperature.

I remember doing that when we first were renters in the North house; oddly even though Dad's house original windows were old fashioned double hung , single pane, never had that ice build up very often but then we had humidifiers running in winter.
We did have annoy stuck windows in wet hot summers at times though, with dehumidifier running.

Well my pants are on fire; I ended up snow blowing off the drive way/parking lot.
We had 4 some inches with an ice film on top, really odd, and after cleaning off the cars, I do the renters as she does mine, there were piles of snow next to the cars, so I blew that all out.

Broke a shear-pin on the snow blower and the gent's place I have done business years for 30 some years died last year, so getting parts is not a simple job like it once was.
Found one and with travel time it took me five hours to finally get it all done; wind was strong and VERY annoyingly swirling , i.e. not blowing in just one direction so even blowing the snow straight up I ended up with snow blowing back in my face.
I had forgotten how nasty it feels when that snow hits you in the face; almost had to take a break and go inside to melt but as I have not hit girly-man state yet I toughed it out. (Putting shear-pin in was almost worse as you can not do that with gloves on.) Shrug! I tip my hat to you.

@RpR It's not to bad although I don't like it. It is suppose to be -22 a couple of nights and that is the lowest for now but there will be a couple of daytime temps of -9 & -10. I'm afraid I'm pretty cowardly when it comes to cold weather. I pretty much stay in except going for groceries once a week when it's that cold. We can have periods when we don't get above zero sometimes weeks at a time. If you've lived in Bemidji you pretty much know what it's like here as we live about 25 miles north west from there.
The only good thing is usually when we start having consistently very cold days, and especially if we have lots of snow, the deer quit coming in and digging at the plants and uncovering them. They were already out through the garden this morning after the snow but it wasn't that cold yet. I've got my fingers crossed. Crossing Fingers!

And the deep freeze is here too.
I gave my snow blower to my SIL as it was just too much work! A shovel gives me better exercise and I have neighbours who pitch in.

You are blessed to have such good neighbors, Caroline.
Snowing here again today. My DH thinks probably about 5" since it started and it's still snowing. I don't know how much it all has added up to but we are well insulated Though it isn't enough to keep the deer from moving around because there are fresh tracks all over my yard and garden. Angry

Since this cold snap the deer stopped coming around, of course there is nothing left to eat, they ate everything already. I do think that many will die this year because the fires destroyed all the forest around us, everything is black, the grass started growing quickly but now we have a lot of snow. Sad

Margaret, that bitter cold on top of the fires that you had in your area... I know Mother Nature will eventually get things put back together, but it can sure take a long time after a forest fire. Crying

I put up the window film today (a good month later than normal), so now I'm ready for the cold temps that are supposed to be coming. And my garden seeds are all ordered, a good month earlier than I normally do that, but what with all the "supply chain issues" I wanted to get them while they were available. Now all that's left is the house cleaning that goes by the wayside during the summer - a bit behind on that as well !

We drove into town to pick up a pizza around 5 pm and not far from our house a pickup and large snowmobile trailer had run off the road and into a ditch, the driver was standing there using his phone so it didn't appear anyone was hurt or anything - but the pickup was pretty much facing the opposite direction from what it should have been, and the black trailer was sticking out into the lane of the (2-lane) highway. By the time we came back, probably 20 minutes later, the wrecker and a couple of other "responders" - probably from our volunteer fire dept. - were there. Definitely looked like something that could dampen the mood for a snowmobiling holiday weekend... At least no other vehicles were involved, though.

Sandy, glad nobody was hurt in the accident.

It's still really cold here, at -4 F, -19 C, at least it was sunny today, so nice and bright.

-24 with wind chills to - 41. It's suppose to get -29 tonight. I walked out for a couple minutes today to take down a couple of Christmas decorations and it wouldn't take long to get frost burn it was so cold. I am thankful for the warm house I could walk back into.
