Flapjack seems okay, nice red edging..I guess as long it is staying dry while cold:

Haworthis limifolia has recovered from being toast last year, but is now back to getting chilled and red: sometimes the falling leaves is covering it..I think I will cover it every night with the dry leaves..got lots of those anyways

It was 29 degree F last nite for us. And the tender and hardy succulents I have are in a U-shaped patio so that the house surrounds the plants on 3 sides. Here they are wrapped up as they usually are since nite temps started to drop into the low 40's. I use a product called N-sulate (white color cloth) and shade cloth that doubles in use for summer and winter . (When wet, these are easier to dry off than sheets since they are lighter and more porous).
Of course the disadvantage of using the coverings is the taking off and covering up every nite for the low temps but I think my plants are worth it.

The blue pot is the pot of Aeoniums that I was showing a couple of the thin-to-thick stem branches which started to bend severely. I peeked at them this morning and they seem to have gotten thru the drop in temp.

I've been called a lot of names in my life; 'Bag Lady' sounds nice... Hilarious!
Besides, gotta do what I gotta do for the succulents to keep them going. It was low of 25 degrees F last nite, so this morning I didn't even bother to uncover them. And even if the nites will be low temps, the day temps will be in the sunny 50's, so the covers will be off for a little sun for the succulents.

I lied...I've decided that I will post before and after photos of my aeonium to show ya'll how pathetic it is! I think it'll come back though, I don't think I've actually lost it...by the way, the pot is 22 inch so its quite large which may not show in these photos

Nice photos Mark!

Tonight if it rains or if we get snow ( who knows), will be the test for my plants outside..but I have moved some indoors already since October, all that is left outdoors are my winter veterans so to speak...but you'll never know...it has been a long hard freeze week. I have some plants whose tags say it is okay to 32F..but we just had 27f..so I do not know if it made some damage...way too early to tell.

Thanks Mark, we got rain near midnight, so it helped the temps rise a bit, I think it just hovered to 43 and 45 last night because of the rain..at least not below freezing..and glad it is sunny and quite windy outside this morning, gives the succulents a chance to dry up. But we are heading down to below freezing tonight once more.

Well, my tomatoes sure went squish, shoot! But so far, everything else looks pretty good. I'm surprised that some of the very recently planted stuff didn't get hit, although a lot of it is growing on or near a rock structure, which just might have had enough heat in it.

Looks like Monday will be the toughest day, though - there is rain forecasted for tomorrow, then 30ยบ Monday night.

I brought my Aeoniums in. I hadta!

Yeah, that and "bedge-room" instead of bedroom.... Pop - now I say soda..... what else? Oh yeah - Jeff Foxworthy thinks you have to be a red-neck to say "Djeet?" instead of "Did you eat?"

Just gotta be a Michigander - or, in my case, a Michigoose.... nodding

AR! Your collection is exactly how it starts! And being on here! next thing you know, people think of you as a "plant person" and when ever they have a plant that they're having problems with or if they're moving and can't take it - they'll think of you! haha (at least that's what happened for me!)
Are these AV's that you're starting? And what are the other things? A begonia? aloe? I love your poster - it really is how I try to live my life! Also I like that plant in front of it, and the textured pot! Hurray! It gives my ideas for painting and using some beads in the paint! (in spring, not now!) What part of NY are you? I had to look up your badge because I thought it was MA Shrug! Welcome! to ATP by the way!
Cheers I tip my hat to you.
