Boojum, that second one is going to be a knockout. Is that Black Pearl?
Here is Rembrandt Van Rijn, better known as RVR.It is blooming on a tall scape.I see some Papilio in it's background.

Hey if it bloomed for me, it can bloom for anyone. I'm the one with 2 papilios that haven't bloomed in 5 years!

Boojun,I'm sure you know that there are two varieties of Papilio. One requires a rest period and one is evergreen. It helps to know which you have.
My papilios have selfed seed pods and I plan to plant many of them but will offer the extras here.I want to see how many slightly different ones will show up in a mass planting.

Nope, didn't know that but I've tried both a dormant period and none to no avail. Some years, I keep all the species going throughout the year.

Maybe not.It is a beautiful flower but as boojum pointed out,it's not going to be your favorite. In my case I need to bring the obsession in line with available space so this fall,Red Lion, most of the Apple Blossoms,Minervas and Mr.Hughes are probably history.
Notice I said "most" of the apple blossoms. It's just too pretty to get rid of them all.

I think the species are my favs. So if you are tossing Mr. Hughes, you know you can toss it here. I am in love.
