Both are laid in cement, something I'm not attempting, but good for ideas on the various items you can use. Clearly, the guy who did these was a golfer! I do love those little "fences" at the sides in the second photo.

This is an area that we did with a similar effect at our restaurant on Magazine Streets little courtyard in New Orleans before selling it and moving to Florida. Its a photo of a photo from an album. It came through o.k. though. Too lazy to pull it out and scan it! Smiling

Thanks, Boo!

Okay, tempt me. What is the process for painting bricks and do you use them as indoor or outdoor decor, or both?

Pirl, I use them both outside and inside. I need to locate my single brick houses so I can show you those too.

Stash! That's the word I was looking for instead of leftovers.

It's when the stash pile becomes overwhelming that I end up dreaming about what I could do with the things I've saved. Now Pinterest comes to our aid with anything and everything.

Got peonies? Hoops not working well? Try an old piece of wire fencing - it works like a charm and is barely noticeable. Look just under the main bloom of Coral Charm here and you can just spot some of the wire - no more hoop expense.

In this photo you can clearly see the peony hoop but the wire holds up the other four plants and it's hard to spot. The spacing of the holes is about 4" x 5" and it works well.

We all thought it was a wonderful idea. I do not know if she submitted it. Confused

Boy this thread is just full of fun ideas. We had a very large stack of old brick but are using it up pretty quickly. I did this brick edging where one brick sits on edge and another lays flat. You should be able to run the wheels of the lawn mower down the flat brick and forgo having to run the weedeater along it. Next spring I am going to do the same edging along a raised bed but I am going to add a row of blue glass bottles to the inner row. It will make the bed higher and the double row of bricks should help keep the bottles from getting broken. Sorry I have no pictures now to share of the edging I put in but here is a few from my parents house of the edging my Dad put in and this was the inspiration for the work I did.
