I have before and after pics of the area I did at my house. It made a huge difference. I think those pic are in the laptop that crashed and is in for repairs. If we retrieve them I will post them. If not I can take more pics next spring when I do the modified version with the blue glass bottles.

Here is another project using found items. We tiled the cement well around the bird bath. Sorry I don't have a before pic in this computer. But this area was just plain concrete. We tiled it with some tiles that we picked up free the dark brown ones came off a hot tub surround and the smaller tan tiles came from a bathroom demolish we did on our upstairs bathroom. It made a huge difference in the look of the pond.

You really need to be a bit careful of those leftovers and free things that can turn into a good sized project. I got a few free water lilies and didn't have a place to put them. So I picked up a small preformed pond. Of course I have all those bricks and the next thing you know I have a new water garden. I used a basket weave brick pattern that I see used so much down south and added in some stone as well. I also found a free kidney shaped preformed pond laying along side the road that has been added to the side of this feature since this pic was taken.

Oh yes, impressive isn't it. nodding
That is a piece of driftwood collected from the sound in the Outer Banks, N.C. We were down there during hurricane Dennis and Ric and the boys took the boat out a day after it went thru. They came back with a boat load of drift wood that they fished out of the sound. Several good sized pieces 3-4 ft and towing this very large piece. Too big and water logged to get into the boat. Luckily we had an extra truck and several strong young men at the beach with us and were able to bring it all home. Can't remember exactly how big but around 6-7 ft long 4 ft high and 2-3 ft wide.

Could 9/25 be his lucky charm since your birthday is 9/21? LOL

Yes, the dimples are on both sides.

Thanks we really enjoy it. It helps that Ric is a gardener and very handy so anything I can dream up he can do. Plus he has some great ideas. I am going to add to that pond feature next spring the kidney shaped pre-formed pond was dug in last summer and sits towards the bottom right of the original feature. I am going to dig in a 8 X 6 pond at the top of the hill between the driftwood piece and the bird bath and then put in a waterfall of cement cast leaves down to the small kidney shaped pool. In this picture you can see the area right in front of the large rock. Last fall I removed the sod in that area and cast the leaves. I can hardly wait for Spring to get started.
