Sue, thanks for sharing your visit to the nurseries. Your 'Lagoon' is lovely. The other blooms are beautiful as well.

Our nurseries don't have any live plants yet, I visited 4 of them yesterday. I was looking at Brushwoods website last night, I've been looking at Alionushka, I want to plant it at the base of rose Souvenir de la Malmaison, I'm stll waiting for those to arrive from Roses Unlimited. I may wait until next year, to get them established on the trellis before I add the clematis.

Thanks Annette!
The one I really want and can't find locally yet is Clematis Sapphire Indigo™. I would love a few of Evison's shorter ones to pair with the rose shrubs.

Clematis 'Sapphire Indigo'... http://www.plantdelights.com/C...

I saw Wayside Gardens also carries it. I'd rather order from Plants Delight.

Plant Delights is cost prohibitive for me pirl, unless I'm reading it wrong:

AZ, CA, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, WA, or WY Your minimum shipping charge
(if ordering 5 plants or less): - $26.25 Your per plant charge $5.25 so that becomes $47.50 for one plant.

The clematis' we have been buying around here are no more than $8-$10 and my gas money.

Monrovia carries it http://www.monrovia.com/plant-... so I may talk to the a local nursery to see if they would order it. Or see if anyone who has it would be willing to root one. Green Grin!

Sorry! I've never ordered from them but clematises from some other sites are dreadful and not worth a dollar.

Monrovia's plants are quite nice, Pirl. By the time we see the Monrovia clematises at our local nurseries, they usually have about 2 feet of top growth. They don't do mail order, but they will deliver plants to our local nurseries.

I was kind of surprised how high it was! I used to get their wonderful and funny catalog, think I'll order it again. Thanks for adding the link and reconnecting me to their site!

I have plenty clems here still to plant so I am in no dire need to get it, will just keep my eye out for it and added it to my ATP wish list. Thumbs up

'Dawn' started a while ago, it's planted with 'Joseph's Coat' rose

'Hyde Hall' started a few days ago, it's planted with 'Franziska Maria' but hey don't bloom at the same time. Glare They are both next to my apricot 'Lady Emma Hamilton' rose.

Multi-Blue is intertwined with rose 'Grace'.
