I am surprised to read your coleus was damaged by 38 degree temps, especially with them in a mini green house. I had some outside that were not covered by anything but tree limbs and though they did not grow they showed no damage. I guess the variety makes a lot of difference . I have actually had them to self sow and come up in very cool temps, something I was really surprise to see the first couple of times, I have found them to be much hardier than tomatoes!

It rained on and off here most of the day, so my flats were collecting water. I moved everything into drainable trays and put them on towels on top of the tables. Hopefully that will pull any extra moisture out of the pots.

Won't this winter ever end? They are predicting a "wintery mix" overnight. Yuck.

Hope your coleus recover, Karen.

Now that the garden is finally planted and we're getting some decent weather, I have fruit on my first two tomato plants. Black Krim had a tomato about 1" diameter before it ever got into it's final home, and now Murhurlu is setting fruit. YAY!!! Cucumbers and squash seem slow this year, though. I keep trying to remember that everything got planted late.

I'm so desperate for good tomatoes I've resorted to buying some of the outrageously priced heirloom tomatoes available at some of the specialty markets. Still not as good as homegrown.

Anyone else have 'maters yet?

None here. Sad Even though I started mine inside under lights, I ran out of space inside and the plants got too tall for the shelves. Winter just wouldn't let go. My tomatoes lived on the deck for a long time, came in overnight quite a few nights, and were planted weeks later than normal. They have blossoms now, and look healthy, but no fruit yet.

I don't have a lot of flowers blooming yet, either.

I have one plant that has two very small green fruits. The rest of my 5 other plants seem to be making flower buds.

We've had a few days of really nice rain plus some warm weather here. My tomato plants seem to have grown 6" in the last 2 days. All of the other plants loving it too. Will try to post some photos soon.

YAY Hurray! for everyone else getting tomato fruit setting.

I refuse to succumb to zone envy!
My tomatoe plants are still in the house in a south window.
When the plants down south slow down--these will be producing!
It is all good.

Harvested my first ripe tomato yesterday (Black Krim). It was so good.....a nice large tomato that was juicy and great flavor. We just sliced it and ate it by itself Smiling

Nothing else close to ripening yet. The Black Krim had a fruit about 1.5" before it ever got into it's permanent home....that was the one that we had yesterday. Lots of fruit on most plants...the Murhurlu is especially prolific. Strangely enough, there is not yet a single fruit on my Chocolate Cherry. Normally, these are one of the first to set fruit; not sure what is going on with that!
