I have gotten them from just about anybody that has irises, but look at Dee's collection, she has some nice ones, also Mid- america and Keppel has some, not many, but what he has are great.

And Schreiner's has 'collections' for people just starting to grow the SDB's and MDB's. I still want to purchase from Sutton's but since they moved they have not gotten their business up and running. I have also bought from vendors like Gilbert H Wild. They are inexpensive but occasionally I get one wrong. They offer me a discount on the next order but I still have to pay shipping so not much fun. They have an SDB in their catalog described as yellow with a blue beard and it is named Gold Scarlet. Cannot find it on any database and the picture shows an iris that is Golden and Scarlett. I have it and it has never bloomed. Another iris adventure. lol

Pokémon is on order but I would love Little Sighs. It is so vibrant. I have also ordered Galleon Gold this year. I hope it is true to its picture....gold with blue beard.

One of the things I really love about SDB's is that they almost always bloom the year after planted. With a lot of TB's I have to wait a year for bloom. Schreiner's irises are always good to bloom the next year but I have one I got as a bonus last year 'Coal Seams', which promises to be very dark, and it is not only not showing a bloom stalk but some of its leaves are thin and droopy. They feel like fabric in your fingers and you can straighten them up and let go and they will fall back over. I have never seen that in a bearded iris.

Man, I dumped a bunch of Pokeman last year, just got way too big and couldn't find homes for all of it. Little Sighs is like the picture, my camera does make things look more blue then they are, but it's kind of a baby blue if I remember. (Got you both down for some Little Sighs)

Don't dump. I will pay postage gladly on an overabundance you cant find a home for. I am an iris hoarder! sharer! lover! I just don't propagate. I plant in iris walks, beds, rows, plots and then pots (I can bring the pots to the front porch, the deck, the 'outdoor room' the kitchen table, the hearth or to a sick friends bedside).

Thank you for adding me to the Little Sighs want list. smiles

Bonnie -- I don't know what's wrong with your limp Iris -- did you check the rhizome for rot?

The rhizome feels rock hard and is securely in the soil. The old leaves are dark green and thick like they are supposed to be and none of the leaves are coming off or are discolored. Its the new leaves that are lighter green and droop like fabric. They are the right shape and size. I put this iris in a pot and it is nowhere near another iris.

Is this normal in some irises? Could it be a mineral deficiency. In March I fed it Miracle Gro. I have not ever had an iris do this. Any suggestions? Ignore the oak blossoms that have fallen on the iris. I have as many in my hair. lol

I think Bright makes a wonderful bright colorful clump. I like the individual blossoms but they are not my favorite......
