Lisa, Mine arrived today too! Hurray!
My were you ever generous with the fans. Thank you so much.

I'm sending you more money tomorrow (payday), The postage you paid was more than the amount you asked for. You sold these Daylilies at such affordable prices that it just doesn't seem fair that some of your money should go towards the shipping.

Hi all,

I am not a very knowledgeable gardener yet so here I am asking :). What is the most likely reason, or combination of reasons, that cause my pink daylilies to bloom into more peachy, lighter tones and the purplish ones to be more of a blah burgundy. The colors of other colored lilies seem more muddy at times as well. I read reviews of the varieties and some people report blooming of the desired color and others report results like mine. "Stawberry Candy" looks almost flesh colored, like a muddiness of color and the eye zone is not very distinct. "South Seas" however looks great. So, what do you think? The soil here is a bit acidic, could that be it?
Thanks fellow think tankers,
MK

welcome!
Since you are a new member, are your dl new also? If you are kind of new to dl and you have only had them planted one season, the first year's blooms do not always look very pretty. Once they are more established they can have much richer color, larger blooms, taller scapes ect. If you have had them more than one season, please disregard and maybe someone else will chime in here.

Welcome MaryKay! Welcome!

Frillylily is right. Daylilies do better once they are settled in. Soil and temperature do seem to play a role in color but I do not know of any guidelines ( not like hydrangeas)

Lisa and Frillylily,

I think you must be right. They were only one year in my garden then. Can 't wait to check it out this year to see what happens.

Hi Lisa,

I would like to purchase one each of "Pandora's Box"', "Lilting Lady", "Decatur Cherry Smash", "Pink Peppermint" and "Gordon Biggs". Is that doable now? I sent you a treemail earlier and the varieties I mentioned then now appear to have been sold. These new postings are gorgeous too. Let me know how we work this out. I will keep an eye out on the treemail.

Thanks, MK

Hi Natalie,

Thank you, I will ck out the daylily forum. I stumbled across Lisa's "daylilies for good prices" thread as I was searching for photos that showed a more realistic color of the Gauguin dl compared to the color saturated photos that are used in many catalogs. I have never signed up to a site like this until today. You all are so helpful and I am very glad that I signed up!

I noticed your photo and in regards to your quote, I think that Golden Retrievers are good for the inside of a person as well as horses. I miss my big goofy friend.
Thx again,
MK
