I'm watching some activity on the radar down near Sonora and wishing it out way. We rebuilt a big water gap just last week, and that usually brings on a gully washer. Maybe I need to back the car out and wash it!

Or water the garden! That usually does it for us. Hilarious!

Mother Nature hasn't watered anything here for a long time. There's a system in west Bandera Co. right now. Guess that's our only chance...if it gets here, and if it does anything. 30% isn't much...but maybe.

I keep watching the radar and seeing the rain coming up from the southwest. When it gets to Victoria it splits and goes north and south of us! our area has had 4.43" since the beginning of 2014.

Porkpal, we were under severe thunderstorm warnings all afternoon. The storms either split and went around us, or just dissolved. We had wind gusts, dark skies, and nothing else. I'm beginning to think Mother Nature is playing tricks on us here in Austin!

They're already tracking a new storm. I'm not going to get my hopes up.

More today! We just had a pretty severe one come through. Very frequent lightning, surprisingly high straight line winds that took out some large branches, and dime sized hail. This is the first time we've had hail here in at least 5 years.

Wow! Nothing here yet. We totaled 0.3" last Friday. I'm hoping for better this time.

Thunderstorms have been rolling through here tonight. Woohoo! Almost 2 inches in the gauge and it's slowing down a bit now.

We're finally getting the rain! Lots of lightning too. I hope we don't have any water rescues like last time. I guess Halloween was the last soaking rain we've had.

Last night was a thunderstorm in Victoria, Tx. Not damages in my area and I hope nowhere. But a good rain and I hope that others had part of this gift of Mother Nature: a good rain.
Continue to be cloudy and seems will be more rain. That's good because the little rains of last week were quickly dry due to winds.

We lost power around midnight, and again about 2:30AM. How do I know that? Because when the power came back on the doorbell rang both times! There were three house fires caused by lightning. Several low water crossings are still closed.
We had drained our rain tank last week because a lot of oak tassels had soured the water. It's full again....305 gallons. Hope @porkpal gets some of this rain today! I know Houston is getting rain!

We got lots of rain last night and some thunder and lightening. My doxie isn't afraid of lightning but one huge strike struck and she was spooked. Poor thing I finally got her settled down . David filled all the gallon jugs yesterday so we could catch more water. I sure wish I had one that held alot like yours Bubbles.

We finally got rain too! I haven't checked the good rain gauge, but the old one said a bit over 3"! Woohoo! That almost doubles our yearly accumulation to date.

I got home around 4:30 and worked until 8 pm to edge mine and my neighbor's yard, transplanted 6 bunches of EE, repotted 2 young plumeria, move a bush daisy, and put down 5 bags of mulch to be lovingly drenched by 4-count 'em-4 inches of rain! Ahhhhhhh!
