Here is another update on my hybrid seed I attempted between Moon Vine and Stargazer lily. I understand thats it's near impossible, but we can manifest anything we want. So to me everything is possible in some way or another.

Now I don't ever recall any mv having a purple stem. So if anyone likes I'm open to all advice or comments.

I don't see how that cross could work. The two plants are not even in the same plant family.

Ipomoea obscura is blooming; Keniaki this year. Thanks Ronnie. I think these seeds came from you.

Pretty one, Alana! I think this one is going by the variety 'Ethiopia'; doesn't Keniaki have a white tube?

You may be correct, Joseph. I am going by the name on the seed packet. There are three plants there so other blooms may have the white tube if there is mixed parentage.

Thanks, Anne, I am hoping it makes seeds so I can continue to grow it. The last one came from an all white flowering parent. I like surprises like this one!

I looks very much like the Parajuli Datura .. when I first saw your picture I was confused for a second.

The bottom one has my vote, too. I love the watercolor quality of the blue.

Joseph when did you start your seeds? Also when did you put them outside?

So far this year it's been very poor for MG's .. vines just aren't growing and flowering .. usually by this time they are loaded.

This is Q751 - though I have my suspicions it might be a dilute Kanoko or possibly a cross. The form doesn't quite look right for Q751.

Alana, I like your description. :-)

Ronnie, I have not put it outside yet. I want it to get stronger. I get seeds from various sources. The parent of Blue Watercolor had all white flowers and intensely variegated leaves. I grew it for the leaves this winter and that blue margined flower appeared.

Anne, I have a special affection for that Q0751, isn't it wonderful? I remember it being more kikyo type flower, however.

Today, some of the I. obscura blooms had white tubes.

Yes, that's how I remember Keniaki. You have both tube types (maroon & white) on the same plant?

This JMG is starting to show off its beauty.

Here shows the split petal Ipomoea purpurea and its different shaped yellow leaves.

Interesting yellow leaves, Joseph.

I don't think it is likely that both tube colors are on the same plant, but at this point the three plants are intertwined to the point that I would destroy them untangling them. I suppose the result of growing both of them together is what I have now. I wonder if there is any point in tagging blooms by color for seed collection?
