Very interestingly beautiful Mexican Hats, that last pic is like the flower has a flower. I've seen zinnias do that before.

can't see these but just wanted to show them growing in water and have been for a year. The whole area where I took the pics was flooded last year in the Memorial day floods in our area, the area looks better than I thought it would but still made me cry, I know it will rebound, already is happening but sad

I know how sad it can be but you're right, it will rebound and flourish again. I've watched our area go through flooding rains and then drought. This year everything is growing beautifully and all the creatures are back too. Maybe even more than before. Nature goes through cycles, I think, and keeps everything in balance, as long as we will let it.

I think this one has probably been growing awhile for some of you but the Black-eyed Susan is finally blooming here. I love it! It attracts such a variety of pollinators and such.

I love it too Christine, it usually volunteers for us here, so nice to have pretty flowers that you didn't have to plant.

It's a wildflower here too, I've never planted seeds but love seeing where it will show up. I let it go to seed for the birds in winter... unless it's in the path of dh on the lawnmower.

Jay, that is so neat! I have tried to grow it before with no luck, but i know it is great for pollinators.

I really likes sun and wet feet. I've got it planted at the edge of a rain garden.

I want a buttonbush so badly but no place wet enough here on our property.

I realize I'm a Floridian on the Texas thread but my wildsown Rudbeckia is going full bore right now. So beautiful to look out & see all that golden color. I do allow them to reseed and get double my pleasure the next year. I'm just plum crazy about them. I love looking at the color variations they come up with too.
