Jim, I would think you have the perfect conditions for them -
lots of sun, warmth, good ventilation, lots of water and occasional fertilizer. ( mine got fish tank water dumped over them this Winter every so often.) Maybe you need a plant from a totally different source?

None of my Vandas are making a move yet either, Jim. My Jairak Heartthrob bloomed in July/August last year so that's when I'm expecting some action. They sure are getting their share of sunshine right now! The full blazing sun through the cage screening until almost 1pm. I do have lots of new growth from the last year on all of them, though, so that is encouraging.
I really wish I could find a garden helper to cut back my bamboo. It's arching over beautifully, but shading the cage just a little too much in the afternoons. Nice fellow I had working for me last year went on a bender and was never heard from again, at least not by me. . .

Jim, beautiful! Loving the Rhynchostylis retusa and Aerides odorata!
Elaine, pretty stuff too. I always like the Green Hornet!
My Enc. cochleata had taken a small break of a couple of months and it just started up again.
I wish I could send you some of ours. At last count, over the previous 36 hrs., we have had 10 separate thunderstorms move though, with 60 mph gusts in one. It is like we are sitting on a train-track, with all the storms following that track. We have now accumulated over 7" of rain and it has been raining constantly all day today. We are water-logged! Our forecast is for thunderstorms over the next 4 of 5 days. Thursday is supposed to be thunderstorm-free.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
Cloudy, warm and muggy here, looks like we may also get some more shower activity before the day is over. Orchids are looking fine, but the fish in our little backyard pond are downright happy.
Nice, Ursula! I do so like your Coel collection (among others).
Does anyone have an idea of this ones name? It was in the exhibit setup on Friday at the recent Memphis AOS Show in May. I could not get back there like I had planned, but I bet it won something!
