Got my new chimes on Wed...or maybe Tues. (I seem to have CRS Hilarious! ) They sound WONDERFUL and chime in the slightest of breezes...need to play around with location. I do have to admit though that I was/am a tad disappointed with the "quality"....not really the term I'm looking for Shrug! ....they seem a bit whimpy compared to my Corinthian Bells chimes, but then they are very heavy duty. In any case their sound more then makes up for being on the whimpy side. Smiling

Two things need to be noticed in this picture. One is of course the brass cowbell I bought 2 days ago. I want to put it at the front door there to be used as a 'doorbell'. My friend has done it on his front door and I want to imitate him because it is so good, effective and simple... no need for electricity!! My wife was buying something in the opposite shop, just 8 feet away and I was looking at another shop which had ropes and harnesses meant for oxen used by the farmers. He had also kept some jinglebells some farmers tie to their cattle. Among them was this bell. One of the 4-5 which was there in the open tray sounded beautiful and without a second thought I bought it. I love bells. Hope you did visit my blog on windchimes - I shared it in an earlier post here - many chimes I made from junk.... if not visited, scroll up again.

The second thing is the subject of this thread - notice it in the image on the right, partly visible - the windchime I made from aluminium / steel curtain pipes I needed no longer.

I have now come to know of the Corinthian [did I spell it right?] Wind Chimes from this thread. And then I looked about its information on the web. How beautiful! Fallen in love with it! There is one chime in my senior friend's house - it was a gift from a relative of his who lives in the US. It has 4 square pipes, a small one, but I cannot resist myself getting up from the sofa during my visit there and shaking it. It has been hung in the corner of the living room. It produces extremely soothing vibes.

If you want go there and click on it...there is a "button" to click on to hear it. Not as deep as I normally like, but it kept playing. It sounded so pretty and relaxing that I just couldn't help myself Shrug! I am doomed...there is no hope. I need to block the site from myself Rolling my eyes. You are funny. I got a good laugh. My neighbors are mean. One of the neighbors purchased one that was about 5' tall the thing was huge. She was trying to set up a oriental garden area and she thought it was great. The neighbors did not think it was great. Rolling on the floor laughing They called the code enforcer and she had to take it down. The township gave her 5 dys and if it was still up it was a $100 a day fine. The thing was so loud if we had a windy day you thought the neighborhood bonging.

I have to admit I am not a fan of wind chimes. I just do not like to hear the noise, I just like hearing the nature sounds.

I agree and please do not feel I think you are wrong. Everyone hear things different and different things calm people. I do not mind them if they are on someone's property and I do not hear it like it is in my space. The small ones on other people's property usually only the property owners hear them.

Everything I have read they are good luck, and bring health. It is good
Feng Shui. Probably why I am broke because I do not have any wind chimes. Rolling on the floor laughing

The one the neighbor set up was as unsettling as having a dog barking all night in your bedroom. That was why the code enforcer went into enforce mode. We have very few rules so if it was not loud he would not have done anything.

I didn't take offense. Yes, they can be a big annoyance. Especially the little tinklers (not fond of those) and the ones made from materials other than metal. Some I like and some not so much.

I love the two large ones they have at the entrance to the rehabilitation hospital where DH just was for two weeks. Coming and going I always had a sense of calm.

Hilarious! at the Feng Shui comment.

I am lusting after one that's about 5' long...know where I want to hang it, but the old checkbook says NO. However, if it would drown out the annoying sound of the neighbor kids on dirt bikes racing the property line I might have to have a chat with said checkbook...I'd rather hear chimes Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

The welding class at the vocational school where we lived in OH did the 5 foot chimes and because they could only charge for parts, they were like 25 bucks but then that's been a few years. The sound was beautiful.
