Have brought out my hunky Adenium two days ago, as our overnight temps are stabilizing and daytime is gradually rising. Glad for the arrival of Spring..a little more rain would be nice though. Many buds forming..a fun bloom time coming about!

Bringing out the rest of my overwintered plants outdoors today. Big Grin

Lucky you!! I won't be able to get my plants out until at least the end of March, probably into April. I HATE PA winters....soooo cold and drabby.

I lost one of my DRs over the winter....the little pink one. But I think part of the problem...other than being in the house all winter....was I bought them very late in the season and then transplanted them and they didn't have a chance to get established before hitting winter. They went from bright green and growing nicely to dormant in a very short time. It also didn't have a very strong root system.

I think the other 2 might be OK ... I hope so... the next 3 weeks or so should tell. I'll probably start taking them outside during the day and bringing them in at night by then. That should help....
I hate losing plants....I know they are "just plants" but when you nurse them along and baby them and get them to grow, bloom, and be pretty and they die....it's like losing a friend..... Crying

Just wait a little more...sometimes I find it is more damaging doing the bringing in and out thing when temps are still so erratic.

Now in more sun..but still with some partial cover from my Schefflera, so just documenting how the plant looks like now.

Mine are now forming buds, I protected the seedpod and covered it with panty hose.

I've been giving it some alcohol swabs..tiny little white specks...but other than that, bud formation continues and our weather warm-up is just right for it.

I've just brought out the other remaining Adenium, a younger one..this one is still sleeping.

Those tiney little white spots are mighty, you better get rid of them or they will take over and you will lose the plant, I spray mine with soapy water.

Have moved my Adenium to its usual spot, smaller one in front of it...like a queen holding court to the other succulents:

Thanks everyone! My Adenium buds are in a stasis of sorts..we are suddenly having cold overnights, earlier we woke up to 42F, thankfully it was dry and windy here the past couple of days.. I hope my Adenium will just shake it off. Tomorrow we are expecting some rains, maybe I will allow it to get some liquid gold and hide it indoors at night just to protect it from the chilly low 40's.

Yes, the low temps, WIND!! and rain, you will lose the plant! Touch the caudex, it should feel warm, not chilled.

Buds are still holding thankfully! We have had some strong winds a couple of days ago and our temps dipped a bit. Expecting drier and hotter temps tomorrow and forward, hopefully that will help this buds bloom Smiling

Our nasty drought conditions persists.
