My Adenium is fattening up nicely and continues on with its blooms. I really like visually seeing how firm the caudex is going.

Comparing photos from early March 2015:

And this May 2015: no more gaps, and buds/blooms forming well
Thumb of 2015-05-05/tarev/5aef3f

Our temps are cooler this week, like 15 to 20 degrees drop, having reached the mid 90's a few days back, and now just in the low 70's and overnights back to the low/mid 50's. Hope the buds do not mind.

Sizzling and very dry temps outside once more, humidity so low:

My Adenium obesum enjoying it with gusto! All the blooms are facing east, loves that eastern sun, trying to avoid the scorching south side:

These are the 4 for $10 Adenums I got 3 weeks ago. I pruned them and they are making leaves.
I put all the dried cuttings in pots to root. Only one did well, it's is trying to leaf out. Hurray! the others were rotting so I pulled them, cut them back above the soft areas, and am letting dry for a full week before trying again.

Those are so cute cindiquilt! I have a similar young one, called Adenium obesum 'Orange Sun' which I got about about three years ago I think. Very young when I got it. So far it is still alive enduring me Hilarious!

When I got it in July 2012 - bought it from Ebay

That's beautiful Tarev. I reduced he watering of my Adenium. I didn't realize it needed to be dry to bloom.

A photo update of my Adenium obesum 'Orange Sun' for this month of August 2015. No blooms, but it has good leaves and the caudex is going fatso nicely. So am okay with it, another bout of heat wave here Rolling my eyes. ...thankfully it really loves the heat and quite thirsty with our extremely dry conditions!

I compared your update of "Orange Sun" to the pic you posted two months ago. Her caudex certainly did get fatter. Thumbs up

About the giamongous caudex of the adenium in the background...please tell about her. I am green with envy. nodding

tarev, What difference as Kadie mentions. When you see them growing like that, Blooms are not really necessary. That is one large caudex on the one behind.

Thanks everyone! Oh that bigger Adenium obesum behind there has been my oldie, got it in 2010 from Walmart.

I have been putting its photos on other threads every year, but to make it easier for me to compare how it grows yearly I decided to make this thread in 2014 to monitor the growth of these two remaining ones. Fun to see the differences as they go through the years. With Adeniums I love both the blooms and caudex..but just happy they are enduring here, enjoying our heat wave always, just got to keep watering daily during summer to keep the caudex fatso. Smiling

I had other little Adeniums before which I mishandled at the overwintering stage, oh well...learning curve..
