The last pic could be a painting. I'm sure there are lots of good memories of that farm. Your "new" farm will make new memories for your children.

Vancouver, Washington looks like the ideal place to me. Winters are not too cold, and summers are not too hot. Sure there is a volcano, but it does not erupt very often.

While I was busy seeing everything in this new website, I totally missed the new visitors to my garden. Went out early this morning to see spider mites had been busy at work on about 15 brugmansias. I'm stripping the leaves and then spraying them with Neem oil. One more thing to blame on the drought. The brugs that get sprayed by the sprinklers are fine. The mites found the pots that I hand water.

Thumbs down

Normally deer don't bother our garden, but they just don't have anything else to eat. They are even eating cantaloupe and butternut plants!

Just spending a little time in Texas (Lubbock) and I have to say, I don't know how you people survive this drought, it is amazing and a bit scary.

Haha! We grit out teeth and bear it, maybe whine a bit. But normally it's not the whole state that has drought, like it is now. Houston usually thinks of drought as something that hangs around a week to a month, then they usually get tons of rain and it's back to their usual weather. The last five years has been bad locally, except for our six month El Nino vacation from dryness. And when we were in San Antonio yesterday, we got to see where parts of S.A. got thoroughly soaked...then come home, where that little bit of drizzle has already evaporated.

We still have a 10% chance of isolated thunderstorms today and tomorrow. Better than no chance at all, but I'm not seeing anything on the radar at all.

Hi Robert! We live in west Austin and lately when we watch the radar, it's as though a dome is over our area keeping out the rain. The last rain shower was all around us in a circle. We didn't get any.

Guess what? The weather for the rest of the week in Austin will be hot! News? It'll be 102 today, 103 and 104 for the weekend and beyond, then 105 predicted for Thursday.

Lee, you can add a little TX flag badge by your tree now.

Go to your Profile (the icon is on the top of the page. It looks like a little person).
Click on "Manage your microbadges". From there you can re-arrange your badges in a different order, and that order will be how they show up in the forums from now on.

Texoma land. 27 days of 100's and not a drop of rain came down on my poor plants. My well is sulphur water and they do not like a steady dose of that . The good side to all of this is we will know what to plant next year. LOL

We're over 35 days now with 100 or above temps. I can't remember the exact count anymore.

Ted, you can now have an Oklahoma microbadge up there with your tree in the right hand corner under your name. Follow the instructions below. (The Profile icon is on the left side of the mail icon at the top right). If you have trouble, come back and I can help.
