Wow! I can't keep up with this thread! Turn my back and a full page has been added...

I'll just stay home while some of this is going on -- not that I don't enjoy the partying, but I have to pace myself! And believe it or not, I'm coming because of Kevin's presentations, so I have to save up my energy and make sure I don't miss any of that.

Also, one of the reasons I love ATP is I can "talk" with you guys without talking, which (unbelievably, I know) hurts... And as you can tell, I love to talk, so when my allotted talking time is up I have to make myself go read a book or I talk myself into real trouble!

If you are like me MR, all we have to do is tie your hands together. I can't seem to talk without using my hands.
But I do understand. If you stay at my house you can sit on the deck and read a book, and watch the hummingbirds.

Sounds lovely! Although having my hands tied could get old very fast... I don't think I am that much of a "hands talker." I just can't look at people, because when I do I want to talk with them!!! Do you have a good library?

We have a wonderful small library here in Dallas. And I have a book shelf full of all different kinds of books.

MR, Are you really going to want to read when Lynn's 10-12 plant beds are out there with 25 or more semp or sedum cultivars are planted in each bed???

Soon to be 17 beds. Currently 14 beds. One of them is just a mass of different ground cover sedum, co-mingling.

Sorry, didn't know you were being that industrious, Lynn! So, yes, I'm looking forward to oogling at least 17 BEDS next April and won't be reading on the porch...

Sitting on the porch provides a wonderful chance to talk one on one with some of the group as they come and go into the house. Everyone stops for a minute or two to chat .. Which makes the porch sitter feel very much a part of the festivities.

Or even take a chair and sit in the middle of the beds and enjoy a different view...... Not a bad way to check out the beds. Better than not being there at all.

I can enjoy walking around! It's my mouth that can't get the exercise... I enjoy listening, too, but it's hard for people to believe I really can't talk (back)! Well, I can talk, but when I overdo, I pay for it later. It's what the TGN support group page calls the "social aspect" that is about the worst for us: we don't LOOK like anything's wrong...

However, I am not going to complain (well, obviously I do, but not too much I hope...) because mine is MUCH better than it was at first! There is a lot to be grateful for -- even a year ago, I wouldn't have considered such a trip!

Well, you could just write it out or use portable computer to type. You would be a good companion for me, groups are hard for me, hearing is shot.

For me it's the eyesight that is not so good. What a team we have going here.
We have a talker, a seer and and a hearer.
MR can hear
Julia can see
and I can talk.
And Marilyn can keep us all in line.

Way to go! I have a mini laptop and I type fast, so we'll figure it out.

Now that sounds like a good plan, using the mini laptop. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I understand losing the voice as I live alone and there are days at a time when I don't speak at all. When I do talk for long periods it frequently becomes raspy and then GONE.

Hopefully I'll be able to get all of the debilitated participants successfully through the clinic!

Plants are looking good! They're enjoying the deluges!
