Thank you, @Planto. It sure looks like Moonlight. It came from Lowe's and you know how they don't give a lot of info. Nice to know. I will go label it right now. I tip my hat to you.

I agree, it does indeed look like 'Moonlight'! I don't even know if mine is still alive ... I have so many plants crammed out on my back porch, we're heading out to a basketball game right now but I will have check tomorrow and see if my 'Moonlight' is still around. Green Grin!

Shady,
You're welcome! Mine came from Wal-Mart and suprisingly, came with a label (and the label was correct!). It's a favorite of mine.

Lin,
Oh my, I hope yours is still around. Lovey dubby

This is my Heart-leaved Philo. Its 18 months old and started from 3 cuttings about 6 inches long. It now covers our upstairs table.

I've been growing Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium) off and on for years but I don't think I've ever seen a bloom. I doubt someone growing it as an indoor houseplant that it would ever mature enough to produce blooms.

There is some interesting reading about P. hederaceum from the late Steve Lucas at his website:

TY! I know it's not a traditional flower, but it's an exciting event to me.

Took this pic of pretty micans a few mins ago, so since I hadn't shown a closeup here yet, here she is:

Nothing wrong with that! Give it time.

I think that was the exciting part of the bloom. The white thing is starting to turn brown, the sheath is not as open as it was. Here's the whole thing just now. Been cleaning the leaves...

Tiff,
That didn't last as long as I thought it would (the bloom). Such a pretty plant though, you don't necessarily need flowers!

This is not something I prefer, or would do to a plant, but I got it. I apologize to the purists, and I asked if they had any not yet gussied-up, but there weren't any. As far as decorated/altered/novelty plants go, I do think it's daggone cute, and minimally intrusive to the plant.

As a Philo-phile, the plain species was on my wish list, (which doesn't have a pic uploaded yet, or any of the cultivars except one called 'Gordon's Gold.') Pretty sure it would be unlikely for me to ever see another one without "reindeer effects," this was my first sighting of any version. The decorations will fall off eventually, and I'm sure getting rained on next year will remove the silly leaf shine too. What are folks' thoughts about trying to remove it with rubbing alcohol, cotton balls? Should I ask what it is first? (It is the kind of store where I would get an answer.)

Philodendron bipennifolium 'Panda'

The leaf shine wears off on its own I think. I purchased a 'Peace Lily' at a local nursery one time and before I could say anything, the cashier was spraying it with leaf shine. Needless to say, a few months later, it wasn't shiny anymore. I didn't even have it outdoors.

If the decorations are glued on you might try using a blow dryer on low heat to see if the glue will soften/melt a bit to where they could be easily removed; then gently wash the leaves with a mild dish soap and rinse well, that should remove the leaf shine.

Planto, I'm really good at doing nothing to leaves, TY. Sounds like a plan!

TY also, Lin. If the decorations are still there after it's past time for homes to have them, I'll investigate removing them. I think they're the same self-stick thingies that I've used for crafts before, though never stuck them to plants. If people like them and it helps folks who sell plants to keep the bills paid, it's a good thing. (And I probably paid more since it was decorated, gonna just go with it.)

While I'm here, check out these roots, attached to outside of plastic pot. Sorry about the sand, a lot of pots got splashed with it while sitting on the ground in the rain while we were moving. Admit, I never did feel like getting any more mosquito bites while pots were outside in the name of cleaning that off.

P.S. Sand splashes onto pots, but not off. LOL!

Purp,
This is the second leaf that is currently opening. You can see the nost recently opened leaf off to the left. I guess they can produce leaves back to back as before the first one was finished opening, I saw this one forming. I was hoping for a bloom too! Hilarious!
