Wow Kent!

Most of these I got this year.. although my data base is not complete yet. When I started it, I wasn't writing the hybridizer's name in... There might be a couple other of Black's hiding in there....but I'm working on getting it completed. Smiling

Nice bunch Sherry, I have to get Varigated Wonder, I have Wonders Never Cease, but would like the varigated pattern for contrast in the garden.

I find this thread interesting because so many of us have his iris, but we each seem to have some that others don't. Is that a reflection of our different personalities? Smiling Or just what the vendors we used had.... Hilarious!

And Tom I am going to put a growing spell on your Wonders Never Cease so there is plenty to share next year. I absolutely love that iris. Lovey dubby

I thought it was nice seeing his photo in the Shreiner's catalog, with Mid America Gardens printed on it. He's deservedly well respected in his field.

Of those I planted this year, I found that some are PB intros.
Coral Splendor
Pussycat Pink
Simply Coral
I had also ordered Deep Dark Secret, but got a substitution that isn't one of his (Blueberry Bliss).

Already had Cat's Eye, and I believe I have a couple of other STBs of his.

Pussycat Pink is a splended grower for us. My problem is it blooms before our other pink SDBs, so have to save the pollen. It can be done but fresh pollen is better.

I need to check my list, to be sure, but I think the only ones of his I have are Bluebeard's Ghost, and Cat's Eye. I'll have to look later.

Jan, in seeing your last post, it rang a bell! I remembered the name Red Zinger, and upon looking it up, I believe I have that one too.

Tom, that's actually Lysimachia 'firecracker', and I love that color echo. This year the Lysimachia was a bit too happy and tried to eat everything else in the bed, so I've dug most of it out. I would like to find some other well behaved red leaved plant to put back in; colorful foliages make the best companions for autumnal shades of Irises.

I love this Iris with the red leaves too, and with the Heuchera. Oops, not to take us off topic, but since I've long forgotten the name of that Iris, it could well be one of Paul Black's, LOL.

Neal, some plants can seem to take over. My Penstemon looks a lot like that, gets nice little flowers, and is not envasive. Maybe that would be a good one to replace it with.
