Thanks Sandi! I am so tempted to chop off the older leaves, so I can have access to lift the plant a bit, remove the little baby on the side and add some fresh soil. Those old leaves are so pokey stiff.

Indeed! So something I learned now..never realized just how thirsty this cycad is. Drought tolerant yes..but will truly appreciate a good watering especially on the triple digit heat wave days of summer
Oh yeah they will. But that's OK, as long as your soil is fast-draining. Using moisture meters could help too.
