Leaf growth is much longer now, and I am counting about 15 new leaves, there is more hiding in the middle

Right Mima...a pokey character

I like this curly leaf stage..as the leaves mature further slowly flexing each curl

That phase is the most spectacular: when the new leaves unfurl!

It is also nice at this phase, as the leaves open, being young and soft, easy to glide your fingers up and down the leaf stalk. no poking yet for sure

And finally, the nice and shiny new leaves fully opened..tada!!

Thanks Sandi! I am so tempted to chop off the older leaves, so I can have access to lift the plant a bit, remove the little baby on the side and add some fresh soil. Those old leaves are so pokey stiff.

Indeed! So something I learned now..never realized just how thirsty this cycad is. Drought tolerant yes..but will truly appreciate a good watering especially on the triple digit heat wave days of summer

Oh yeah they will. But that's OK, as long as your soil is fast-draining. Using moisture meters could help too.
