Jeanne, I love the old bicycle behind the hydrangea. Very cute! And the gazing ball in the chrysanthemum is such a cool idea You certainly have a lot of blooms to look forward to this year. Enjoy!

Here are some pictures that I have taken recently of my spring blooms.
These are my well established Tulips. My Tulips that are coming up for the 2nd time are spotty. Some are coming back and some aren't. I hope they are still growing underground.
I love the spacing of your tulips, Jeanne. Looks like there is a lot of room for summer blooms:) I have had tulips bloom one year and then never come back. I don't know if voles got to the bulbs or what. And then I have some that keep coming back thicker every year.

Here are some pictures of my flowers and flower beds that I have taken recently. This first picture is catmint and the second is of my front flagpole bed.
The first of these two is along my back fence. I am redoing this area. I am taking up all the old mulch to be used in my raised bed area. I am taking up the old fabric and adding perennials and then putting down new fabric and new mulch. I am really hoping that this new fabric and mulch outlive me. 2nd photo is the flower bed behind the garage. It gets afternoon shade.
NOID Tulips and NOID Lilies
NOID flowers and My cat Tommy keeping me company
My flagpole flower bed as your looking at our house. This is another picture of the back fence bed that I redid.
Jeanne, you are putting a lot of work into your flower beds and I'm sure they will be beautiful when everything gets done. It will be so worth the effort!

Here are pictures of some of my flowers that are blooming right now.
Lupine............ Not sure what this yellow one is.
I think this is a Pansy that reseeded and a garden phlox.
A Poppy and Allium
Can't remember what this is and Columbine
I'm sorry for not knowing the names of my flowers and shrubs. I just know that I love my flowers and shrubs and love gardening. I am trying to get better about remembering the names of the new plants and flowers that I am adding to my flower beds.
Thanks Cinda. My husband is a farmer and I try to find as many goodies as I can to put in my flower beds. Gardening is sure a lot of hard work but I truly enjoy the challenge and the outcome. Can't wait to post more pictures as I get them cleaned up and looking presentable. Happy gardening. Back outside I go in a couple hours.
It has been a few days since I have posted pictures of what is blooming. Here are some of my latest flowers.
My first Poppy
Catmint
NOID Peony
NOID Iris (are these Siberian Iris?)
Peony and NOID Iris by Asparagus patch.
Asparagus patch that I just finished working on. Weeded then put down fabric and grass clippings. Hope this does the trick. I love my Mock Orange bush that is still young. Oriental and Asiatic Lilies planted along the fence.
Hosta that I dug up potted and Oriental Lilies just planted near the 2rail fence. This is in the Asparagus patch and by the raised bed garden.
My flagpole flower bed I can't wait for it to be in full color.
A week or so ago, I started putting new brick edging around my flower bed along the south side of the garage along the cement slab. Here are some pictures that I took. These first 3 pictures were taken when I finished this area. I planted perennial flowers where some annuals were last year. Then added new edging and new mulch over the old mulch.
These next 3 pictures are of the last part in this bed that needs to be done. I hope to add more perennials where there is too much open space. I may take up the fabric and just put down mulch so that the flowers can reseed easier.
Here are some pictures of my Hosta bed on the north side of our house. I still want to put edging along it and it wraps around to the front flower bed. That will require a little more work so I have been putting it off so I can get a few other things done.
Before the Hosta get huge, there are Lillies of the Valley in there that smell so good. I love my huge Bleeding Heart but it does take a beating with the high winds that blow around the edge of the house. We are on the ridge and it is always breezy if not just plain windy up here.
I call this flower bed my flag pole bed. The left side of it is in memory of my father and the right side is in memory of my mother. This is my dad's side. I have a couple old anchors in there. Dad loved to fish. Behind the Black-eyed Susan is a large mushroom. Dad loved to mushroom hunt. On the other side is the top part of a cigarette stand that was my dads. My dad also loved his pets, his dogs, although they weren't Basset Hounds like the one pictured. Dad was a Veteran and fought in WW ll.
This is my mom's side. Mom also loved to fish and loved her pets. My mom's name was Rose which is why I planted a red Knock out Rose Bush on each of their sides. Mom loved to knit, crochet, quilt, and do most anything with her hands. They were both religious as are we. They loved growing their own vegetable and I can remember snapping beans and shucking peas from the pods. Mom helped to teach me how to pressure can my veggies.
They will both be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
It has been a very busy 2-3 weeks with an out of town wedding in TN, then a niece got married and the couple that had just gotten married in TN were our weekend guests for the niece's wedding, and then came the 4th of July weekend with family get-together and more weekend company. Needless to say, I had to spend a lot of time inside cleaning my house since I had been spending all my time prior to this outside in my yard and flower beds/garden.
Here are some pictures that I took yesterday. I need to take more today of the areas I didn't get to. I hope you enjoy my hard work.
It is going on 8:00 so I better get my chores started. I will add more pictures of my flowers later.
