This one is only getting a single flower at a time, although often there's a bud in waiting. Maybe as it gets older and bigger.

Thought I'd add this. Not really your usual waterlily. More like a creeping waterlily, Nymphoides aurantiaca. I have it growing in an old enamel bath tub.

Hmmm, I have a white version of that 2nd pic, we call it snowflake. It blooms just floating around in the pond, doesn't even need to root.

Lovely water lilies Smiling Makes me look at them at a different perspective and appreciate their beauty for a change. Where I grew up, they grow unabatedly down the river, sometimes, you cannot even see the river anymore because it is just full of them. Unfortunately then it becomes a problem for drainage, as it clogs the river arteries heavily and if not removed terrible flooding come rainy season. On the other hand, there is a cottage industry that thrives as well, the leaves are used in making nice slippers Big Grin

I guess on a smaller pond scale, they are nice to have, easier to control Big Grin Just watch your drains!

I am just jumping in on the end, is there somebody here still have some pond lilies to trade for some other plants. I have never grown these but have a small waterpond with only frogs that would love some lilies to sit on. If anyone is interested, please drop me a tree-mail. I do not care what the colors is. Just need to get started with learning how to grow and take care of them.would also like some suggestions from those of you for other water plants I can put in my pond. Thank you, Marsha
