Hurray! Annette!

Beautiful Neal and I see the bees are busy on both the crocus and aconite. Smiling

Planted Hyacinths last year and hoped they would return, a few did but none seem to have multiplied this year.

Thanks Ann!

Neal your crocus and Aconite are gorgeous! It looks like they've naturalized beautifully. I would love to see mine do that, provided they don't get destroyed by the critters.

Larry, nice blooms! It took a few years for my Hyacinths to multiply. I'm starting to get clumps of them now.

The Earlicheer continue

I don't yet see any sign of Full Throttle or Sun Disc popping up at all. Sighing! I'm trying to be patient.

An odd thing has happened. Dec. of 2013 I planted Tete-A-Tete bulbs along a ridge either side of a pergola out back. The ones planted on the east side all came up last year but did not bloom. Of the ones I planted on the west side only 2 groups came up & weakly at that. I can NOT understand why those didn't all come up like the other side -- nothing made sense -- they were all planted on the same day at the same depth. So I thought for sure they were goners. Now, those are coming up! Confused They are running about 2-3 weeks behind the ones on the east side but darned if they don't all appear to be coming up. I am totally surprised. I thought since they did not come up last year they would not be able to make enough food to emerge this year. I figured they rotted or just plain died or something. I never expected they would lay dormant & then appear this year. We will see if any of the Tete-A-Tete's bloom this year. So far no sign of buds yet but I'm still hoping.

Ann, have the Tete-a-tete bulbs been fertilized, or are they getting enough sun?

I had a set of Fortune bulbs around my mail box that didn't come properly for several years. I dug them up and found they were being obstructed by the roots of the May Night Salvia that I removed. They were replanted and fertilized, and they came up and bloomed fine last spring.

Here are a few blooms from today. I'm amazed at how fast the dads are starting to bloom since we've gotten warmer weather.

Oh beautiful Annette!!!!! Hurray!

As to the Tete-A-Tete's I am sure they're getting enough sun. If anything they get toooooo much sun. I haven't fertilized them since planting. They are naturalized; not in a bed.

My Tete-a-Tete are also grown in full sun as well, and I do fertilize mine. They're grown close to my irises, so I'm sure they also get fertilized inadvertently when I do the irises.

Some of the Daffs I grow can be a little picky and require some fertilizing and TLC, but a lot just do their thing without any attention at all, and Tete a Tete is the latter- all they ever need is dividing. Unless the soil is really deficient, I wouldn't think fertility is the issue, and since they're in an orchard, the fruit trees wouldn't be doing well if that were the case. I'm wondering if perhaps they aren't getting enough winter chill? That doesn't even seem that likely with Tete a Tete, since its such an easy forcer.

I will see what happens this year with them. Hopefully at least the ones on the east side of the pergola will bloom. I still don't understand why the ones on the west side did not come up last year nor why they are running about 3 weeks behind the ones on the east side this year. It's a mystery!
Maybe the Tete-A-Tete's as a whole just had to settle in but that still wouldn't explain the east side/west side difference. Shrug!

Hey, there is hope yet for the spring show of blooms. Today in a tiny bare patch of ground which is between two snow drifts I saw one crocus bloom out in the sunshine.

Since this past Sunday I've been noticing snowdrops and some crocus blooming. Then a few days ago I noticed two aconites blooming next to each other! Hurray! I didn't plant them, but am so happy to see them. I'm going to get bulbs of them to plant this Fall. My new special snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis 'Viridapice') are blooming today! Hurray!

I meant to take pics later today before the sun set, but I forgot. *Blush* I was out in the late afternoon trying to get weeding and other yard chores done and went inside around 5:30 to take a break and didn't go back outside.

Here's a few pics of one of the aconite's.

Sorry I've been MIA (Missing In Action) lately. *Blush*

Nice to see y'all pics of your flowers! Thumbs up I've tulips and daffs poking their heads up! Thumbs up
