It has been too long since I was there (three decades), but there were huge ones. I don't really remember density though. That just makes it that more interesting to ID the tree when it leafs out and blooms. Thumbs up

Hetty, that is one fabulous tree. I was in Maui last month, and I didn't see any trees that dense either. Here's a picture of some of the trees at our hotel. Even driving around, the trees seen in home gardens weren't that dense.

AAAAAAAND (drumroll) the winner is....... CARTER # 2 - now blooming in my yard. That is the first bloomer of the year 2015 Green Grin!
The picture I took looks really bad (out of focus and dark) so here is one from a different time.

It's always been a great bloomer.

Kind of silly pleased that my educational display about Plumeria, which I had been asked to make for the Flower Show this weekend, was awarded a First Prize Smiling

That is really neat, Hetty. Very educational as well. Congratulations on the ribbon or whatever the prize was.

That's why I always "preview" before hitting "finished". I never know how my camera was held when a picture was taken. Sighing!

I agree I agree

Looks like the winner in my garden is either a NoID given by a former colleague or Aussie pink.

Forming buds are Dwarf Pink Singapore, Giant Aussie Orange, Divine, Puu Kahea, Hausten White, Star White and Trimark.

Watching Red DuvachelleDauvachelle, Rimfire, Rainbow Starburst and Singapore White, closely.

Lucky - all you in FL. I am just now beginning to move my tropical plants outside, hopefully where they will stay until fall. The potted plumeria go out first. I will start rooting several dozen cuttings (that have over-wintered in the temporary greenhouse inside the garage) perhaps at the end of the week or next week.

Not just plant, Gigi. The fall and the spring, at least some of it, is the most comfortable time to be outside. Hurray!

Congratulations Hetty. My trees are only now getting some leaves; actually one has loads of baby leaves right now and the other is just beginning to form some. I wish I knew the names of them.

My trees are putting out inflorescences and a few leaves. I stripped all the leaves off all 4 trees this last winter. I decided that I would let them start fresh, even the white that always keeps some leaves and blooms through the winter. I was standing near the screen door to the roof garden the other night when the scent hit me from one of them. It's one that has the smell of cinnamon, not as sweet as the others. What a joy to have that smell wafting through my bedroom at night.

A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

Jonna, you might be on to something. All my plumerias lost their leaves this winter even the Divine and Dwarf Pink Singapore that usually stay ever green for me. The good thing is, I'm not fighting rust this early in the season.
