It is still raining here. My only hope is that the ground, aka rocks, will be soft enough to get my hostas up and out of danger from the deer. Also, DH needs to use the string cutter on the weeds left on the hill also to get rid of the weeds growing up through the rocks in the back yard. When we got the rocks in the back yard the thought never occurred to me that I would have to WEED the rocks silly me.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

It was a bit windy last night then we started at 56F this morning with about 70% humidity. But as the temps slowly edge higher humidity is falling. It is getting windier outside and expected high of 69F. Hoping for that forecast drizzle to truly come by tonight or tomorrow. Any small amount helps always. In the Sierra Nevadas they have snow, and more is said to come. Forecasts say by Monday we will be into the higher 80's..going to be very dry days forward that.
@Kelli You are so right. How can they be so tenacious when plants I give loving care to wither and die???

Clouds are rolling in here, with more rain expected later today. It's nice now though, so I'll be outside playing until that rain arrives! Need to find a place to plant all of the daylilies that I bought from Lisa @Lilydaydreamer. I'm out of room!!!!! Totally out of room!!!! And I'm so excited that I can't stand it!
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
We've been busy working on a new expansion (Mark more than me), but the ground is so wet that we can't get much done. We even have the fence for it. Just can't put the fence up until the ground is finished. Have to dig out all the dirt that was piled in that spot when the previous owners put in the veggie garden. It was/is a huge pile! It's getting there, but not nearly fast enough!
And now, it is POURING down raining, so that means it will take even longer to get that new bed finished.
It is a beautiful day today and I am so glad I could get the hostas dug up so they can be moved. They are really pathetic, but what wouldn't be if the deer had eaten you down to the ground for two years in a row. I have been complaining about the rain this week. This morning I dumped 3.3" out of the rain gauge. @Natalie, I'm sure you are anxious to get your new bed finished. I was beginning to think that it was never going to stop raining here but come July, I will be wishing it back.

Natalie you can always pot up the daylilies until you get the garden space ready. Good to hear you will have more garden space with all of your land you have plenty of room.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!

for all this extra land! How can I be out of room, with all these acres?
I hate potting stuff up, so I think I'll put them in the veggie garden until the other garden area is ready. I've got plenty of room where I grew corn last year. Decided to skip the corn this year, because I need to improve the soil or something. It was a big failure. At least with daylilies, I can improve the hole they go into, instead of doing the entire area. That is so much easier! No rabbits should be able to get into that area this year, so they should be safe. Now if the weather would just cooperate, I'll be much happier!
Total surprise this morning! We heard a clap of thunder in the night and some rain but figured it was just a sprinkle. When I checked the gauge this morning we had received .50 or rain!!!!!! Both bone dry 32 gal. rain barrels were over flowing! They had only given a slight chance for rain last night and in April this is unusual. I am one happy gardener this morning and my first daylily has a flower, a Stella.

They are calling for a high of 79F, our last day in the 70s for at least a week. They are calling for 90F on Monday and Tuesday. We are having Santa Ana winds today, which is no surprise since we have a wimpy (rainless) 'storm' system move through yesterday.
