I would think that the red markings would help in the ID.

Yeah, the reddish , purple "speckles", or whatever one wants to call them, are found on only a few of the "old yellows". Seems to be more noticeable when it's cool, and seem to disappear when it warms up. W.R. Dykes is another that's 'famous" for them, but it's bloom is more "blocky", and the falls don't look quite as much like the ears on a hound dog Sticking tongue out . In this area, Coronation must have been VERY popular, and passed around a lot, because almost every place with iris seems to have a few.

My Coronation also have very strong PBF, probably as much if not more than anything else in the garden right now.

Jane, You caught me just before it got dark. It does have PBF, but mostly at the base, and not strong, but definitely there. It's tall. I didn't measure, but I'm thinking over 40"..

Love Kashmir White, something about that form is appealing to me.

Yesterday Kaleidoscope opened its first bloom of the season, and this morning I saw Honorabile had a bloom open. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the falls on the Honorabile bloom are lined, red on white, rather than solid red. I checked last years photos to make sure I wasn't confused, and sure enough, Honorabile looked normal in the exact spot last year. Perhaps I'm seeing a sport? I'll get photos today.

Honorabile, as well as all it's sports, seem to look differently every year......very unstable!

My *version* of either Honorabile,...OR...sans Souci...since even the experts can't seem to agree on what Honorabile *really* looks like, I tag mine 'H, or SS"
