Oh, I was glad that Melanie reminded me...at first I forgot to put the name of the bird in the post at all, so I went back and added it. Happy that everybody liked it! Those juvenile birds are so endearing!

Yes, I heard them peeping in there softly. Must have heard movement & thought mom or dad was coming & then this head popped up with the mouth W*I*D*E open & that little dickens sat there with the mouth about as big as the hole in the nest box. I had time to go back in the house, get the camera & shoot! One persistent little bluebird it is for sure. It's going to be a survivor. Don't know how many are in the nest. Not opening it to find out.

Rita - Have you thought of using some netting over your cherry tree so that the berries are able to ripen for YOU to pick and enjoy some, too?

At least take some of those mesh fruit & veggie bags & put them over *some* bundles of the fruit.

Not my style and I can't reach up top anyway, not even with a ladder. Even though I would not be climbing a ladder.

A pair of Blue Heron's were across the waterway in a neighbors yard the past hour or so. I'm thinking it's a mated pair. Usually I see single Heron's feeding alone, never in pairs and when another comes in the vicinity the one who was there first will chase the newcomer off. A few minutes ago, one of them flew to a neighbors deck across from me while the other flew to my next door neighbors deck.
