They are my favorite bird because they never shut up. There is a house in the middle of one of my gardens, and the whole while I work she gives me heck. My DH says they are Irish like me
Happiness is doing for those who cannot do for themselves.
A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird has been visiting the feeders daily but I'm having a heck of a time getting decent pictures this year. These were taken through the window yesterday ...
It's been extremely dry here and we need rain badly; we've had clouds at times but no rain. I took this picture day before yesterday when a little Hummer perched at the top of the Cypress tree:

Sorry, I just had to razz you. I'm in a strange mood this evening making everything into a joke.
They are fantastic photos Lin.

I was surprised one evening to see the Scott's Oriole male on the hummer feeder when it was starting to get dark, so I grabbed my camera and took this through the window.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White

Nice shots Claudia ... oh how I'd love to see Oriole's around here! Wow, when I enlarged that last shot of the Flicker, I thought it was perched on a Gator!!

Oooh, that Robin Egg is so pretty but it's that it ended up on the ground. A couple of months ago I saw a crow flying with what looked to be a white egg in it's mouth and at at least five mockingbirds in chase! Also, earlier this year my neighbor had mockingbirds nesting in a small shrub in her yard and she showed me a small freshly broken mockingbird egg on the sidewalk in front of her house. I figured a predator bird probably dropped it as it was being pursued and dive bombed by the adult mockingbirds.
