Pegi ... luv that Jadeite green vase ... luv, luv, luv it! I also use the glass lampshades like the one you have there as your base. They are great for stability. I turn them over the other way too and plant in them.

Sharon ... that green piece ... Lovey dubby And the bottle with the head on top is great! I have recently started what I call a Faces on the Fence project on my back fence and adding some totems like that with heads on top would be just the ticket to go with. Very cool! (Yes, one of these days soon, I hope, Sharon.)

This sedum was supposed to go directly into this glass shade from the pot when it was just small cuttings. Got stuck behind the roses and I forgot about it. But they've grown nicely anyway. Must do that today. Now a totem about 2.5-3' tall with a glass lamp shade on top and planted with these sedums ... ah, ha moment. And the shades already have a drainage hole to boot.

The picture also reminds me that I used to do stained glass work. The broken piece was my very first project and the only one I have left. I gave away all the others. What was I thinkin'? :glare:

Faces on the Fence area ... I see there is another totem on the right mostly out of the shot.

Robin, around the area under my big pine tree is another project yet to be done. But I do love that area. Thumbs up

One done, not fond of the blue one yet. I need to place it beside a pot of something like a purple vine. Still working on it.

The gold thing is an old charger that is fairly heavy, so yes, I glued it all together.
Bird seed in it, maybe, if I put it out in the garden.
I'm just not happy with the blue, but I'm thinking of a huge pot that I have in front beside the driveway, it might work well there. I also think I need a bigger base for it.

Yes, I think a more pronounced base too ... maybe a darker color for the base.

Bird seed ... can you just see the red Cardinals with that green and gold. Thumbs up

Yep. And the finches when they turn their spring yellow would look good on the blue.
Going to the dollar store right now, they might have something dark and big for the base.

Wow That green one is simply stunning, I love it. The blue one does need something, good luck on finding that right day.

Our thrift store in Camdenten has sales everyday. They mark just about everything that comes in with a color stripe/ Each day they pick 2 colors and they will say this color is 50% off and this color is 80% off. Everyday are lucky days is you find something with that days color. Picked up an end table / night stand 80% off, cost me 4.00.

I was in my kitchen...and tried stacking some things for fun and nearly lost my favorite yellow and white polka dot bowl! WHEW! No more practicing on my favorites.

At our good will, if you are 55 or over, you get 25% off on Thursdays. Hurray! Hurray!
I fortunately am over 55 but they make me show them my id. I love them all very, very much when they do that. Rolling on the floor laughing

In fact, when I feel old, I just go to Goodwill on Thursday.

Oh Becky, you have such a great sense of humor! Don't every lose it. Thumbs up

I discovered in my box such a nice green vase, thought of Sharon. I have a cute blue angel I bought at the dollar store a couple years ago that I want to put on a totem, slowly I'm finding some great pieces among my boxes. Sometimes you can find such a nice holder for one of those huge fat candles and they make a perfect base for a totem.

I found one of those candle holders today in my stash, Pegi, it's light green and would go well with your pale green milk glass. Thought of you, too! That was yours, wasn't it, that milk glass?

Gee Whiz, Becky. Wonder what they'd do for those of us over 65?

Big Grin
I love Goodwill but I can spend $$ to fast on impulse so I learned to leave the debit card at home and take just what I want to spend.

I was looking at craft stuff and found a chess piece that reminds me of a stack. I'll try to take a photo for you tomorrow if I remember!

Hilarious! I can always find something at the Goodwill, it seems. And usually quite a bit. I try to hold the line at under $20, but sometimes I fail. Yes, "sometimes". Thursday is our "Over 55" discount day for 20% off. They always have a tag color that is 50% off, but things tagged with that color are usually very picked over by then.

We've talked about it so much that I'm going to run over there today. The GW is just about a mile away from me which is the bad news. Big Grin The good news is that they usually have a lot of new things after the weekend. Got to take the bad with the good, I guess. Big Grin

I wish I had saved all the old chipped depression glass that has passed through my hands. Sigh! Crying

Sharon, I didn't think of my milky green vase as milk glass, gee I think I may have a white milk glass somewhere in this house. It is my "hour glass figure" vase. Sometimes you can find the round plate out of a microwave too you could use, but don't know if it would be heavy enough for some projects. Today is my 20% off day at the thrift store, but before we go into the store we check out the dumpsters out in back. That is where my mirrors came from, always looking for some small tiles for mosaic work.

I think I should get more than 20% off, like another 20% for each 10 more years. That would give me 60% off, don't think they would go for my idea.

Ummmm ..... that would place me really close to the 50% mark.

What am I talking about. There isn't even a thrift shop within 25 miles of me.
