Sherry,
My Susan Wms Ellis grows in typical Austin shape, which is long pieces sticking out here and there, leaves clear to the ground, very full. Blob shape. Does that help? Hilarious!
Lyn, Sweet Chariot sounds like such a wonderful rose. I've seen it pictured in many of my rose books, and everyone raves about it, but I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere? It is highly rated, and it seems to me that it would sell well, so why aren't the nurseries promoting it?
Wouldn't Sea Foam look cool grafted to a tall trunk? I'm thinking it would look like a flowering weeping cherry, except it would bloom for 7 months instead of 2 days!
Green Grin!

My Sea Foam is low-growing but quite stiff. As a tree, it would look less like a weeping cherry and more like a dogwood having a bad hair day.

I can't imagine a dogwood with a bad hair day.. They're all gorgeous to me.

Thanks Cindi... There aren't many Austins that aren't wild things.. I used to grow Sweet Juliette that was smaller. Queen Nefertiti is also HT in form..

'Green Ice' looks really nice. It's got that sweet noisette/polyantha look that I'm searching for. 'Sweet Chariot' could also work in that space. I do know a guy that does custom budding, but it would take a couple years, and I'm not that patient anymore.

But speaking of custom grafts... I have a 7' standard 'Renae' that I got from him that needs a support. There is nothing that I can find that is pre-made and tall enough. Sad This will probably be the last year I can cut it back enough to fit a hoop over it's head.
