beckygardener said:Happy Belated Birthday, KD!!! Right after Christmas. So close to Christmas must be a rip-off on the presents. I always feel bad for folks whose birthday falls so close to Christmas. I think you should celebrate your birthday on July 26. Thumbs up

My birthday is Dec. 21st & when I was a kid I HATED it with a passion! Then somewhere around the time I was 16 some wise soul said this to me:
"Yes, but just think..... everyone gets so antsy to open a present before Christmas and YOU GET TO!" That made all the difference in the world in how I looked at my birth date ever after.

KD, Yours is the day after Christmas so I will say this to you:
You get to celebrate 2 whole days in a row! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Happy belated Birthday KD! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

So, after taking and posting today's pictures, I'm sitting here thinking it is such a nice day I should get dressed and work outside. What needs to be done that can be done before end of February...hmm, no, not that...no, foolish to do that now...not that one, either...okay, something inside. Well, what if I try one of those spare bedroom curtains in the sunroom, see if I like the way they look? Take down a pair...yuck, dust. Take them all down and shake outside. Those blinds are nasty-dusty, too, and I forgot about the broken one. Try to tie it up, no good. But what if I take the blinds from that one window there and move THEM over here? Oh, yeah, that works. Next. Before can try out the good curtain, have to take down the temporary curtains. Dusty windowsills. Have to wipe those down before hanging the good one, for sure--I mean, I just shook them out! Okay, that's done. Now...hmm...what if I do this? Then this? Then...well, why wait to do that? By the time I got finished being distracted and doing other stuff, I needed a shower, my nose was stopped up, and...I had paint drips on my pajamas. Hilarious! Hilarious!

Still some small areas that need another coat of paint, and I will have to redo parts of it if the contracting work actually is done, but it feels less like limbo, now. Will probably take different photographs in the morning to get better light.

Me, too!

I do the same thing, Debra. I get distracted doing other things and have to tell myself to stay the course. And then I have to always double check that I closed the fence gate, or the refrigerator door, or put the clothes in the dryer because I get so distracted that I walked away to do something else before doing those things. I should be skinny running around double checking everything that I couldn't remember whether I did or not. I'm not skinny though... Sighing! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

In my class, we read a series of books that started with the title book, "If you give a mouse a cookie" .... it's about doing something that leads to something else that leads to another thing and eventually it gets back to the beginning of the story to start all over. http://www.scholastic.com/teac...

Debra - Are you painting the room walls a light green?

I like those light colored curtains. It still allows light into the room. Very nice!

Oh wow! Philip, your card brought tears to my eyes! You are so thoughtful. Lovey dubby

When I was a youngster I used to daydream about having magic to do stuff. (Especially when I was the last one at the dinner table because I was gnawing at chicken bone marrow. Rolling on the floor laughing The last one at the dinner table had to clean up and do the dishes. Rolling my eyes. Well, maybe it was because I was the eldest of 6 and could reach the sink!)

Philip, thank you, thank you...you have made my day! Smiling
