One thing I forgot to mention is that it helps if you have terracotta pot sealer to seal the pot or just take Elmer's glue or Weldbond glue and water it down 50%. Then paint it on the flowerpot inside and out and let it dry before you start. If you don't seal it, the glue soaks into the pot, and the pieces aren't held on as well.

You're welcome. Just ask when you get started if you have any questions or problems. Just take it easy and have fun. If you put something on and then don't like it, they are removed fairly easily by just carefully pulling and twisting. I sort my items to be glued into large, medium and small. The large one go on first, spaced evenly. Then fill in with medium objects spaced evenly. Then you finally can fill in with the tiny things, and then put beads in the holes that are left. The idea is to completely cover up the pot.

You can just decorate the pot rim if you like, and leave the rest of the pot plain. This was my first pot that I made for a friend.

Thanks, that was when I'd first discovered seaglass. It's so much fun to hunt! They are like little gems. Old depression glass often glows under UV light, so we even go hunting at night with our UV lights. That's just like an easter egg hunt! I go hunting for seaglass, wash and sort them into baggies by color. Then it's easy to grab the bags when I want to use them for something.

Thank you, Gardengus and websemps! It is an enjoyable thing to do while the gardens sleep and the weather isn't the best. Give it a try. I think you'll see how easy it is to personalize some pots.

I also like to doll up the plain sun faces you see everywhere. Grab one and give it some new clothes!

I don't think I have a pic of the terracotta sun faces I've done. I have pics of one that was just metal and I dolled it up. For this one I used stained glass and beads. Originally I was going to make a kitchen backsplash using it, but I decided it would be too hard to clean, so I hung it on my greenhouse.

I've misses alot while I was away for a few days from ATP.

THESE pots of yours are stunning, Karen! I've never heard of the glue, but it sounds sturdier than glue guns or even gorilla glue.

I need to make some of these.

WOW!!

Hiya, Becky boo, you were missed. That caulk works really well and isn't messy to use. I used to use hot glue a long time ago, but I found out the hard way that it doesn't hold permanently., I made a huge wall mirror full of shells. It was fine for about 10 years and then it just started falling apart. All of the shells fell off. I think it just gets brittle with age. Gorilla glue is too messy for me, and it is hard to judge how it expands.

Well, Karen, I am delighted to know about the caulk-glue. I made a chalkboard and attacked fun things all over the outside. Most fell off. Whistling I used a glue gun.
