That Carnival Watermelon is beautiful!

I picked up Carnival Coco Mint today.

I have not seen any of these "Carnival Series" at my local nursery or the regular Big Box stores. Are they new or did they take off from the one that has been sold for a couple of years called Carnival?

They are a series I think from Darwin that started about 3 years ago. Lowe's has them around here. Watermelon is at most garden centers around here also.

Bob, that is strange that different Lowes are carrying different series. I mentioned that the Lowes in my area are carrying the Kira Series. Since we are both in the North you would think they would order the same Series for those zone/areas.

Cinta and Bob. I have a friend who worked in the garden center at HD .The way things are done there makes me doubt they give a rat as to consistency among stores.
She said many karts of plants are not watered and the aime seems to be " just sell it no matter what"
She quit after that season,she cared too much for the plants.

@NJBob I have had Carnival Coco Mint for a few years now. Really like it! The blooms were so tall this year I had to get a pic of it! haha These were taken 3-4 weeks ago




Edited to say: Lowes is carrying the Dolce series around here this year, Blackberry something and Coffee Bean are 2 that I liked, Might grab them this morn while Im out

I enjoy seeing the blooms. It seems the hummingbirds enjoy them too. I see them out the window today. They are ignoring their feeder and visiting the Heuchera!

Amanda Coffee Bean is part of the Carnival Series and has done very well for me. The other is most likely Blackberry Current.

Jo Ann at my HD we have assigned people that water every day. The vendors also have employees that spend at least 6 hours a day taking care of the plants. I guess it is done different at other stores.

Bob, that sounds reasonable, sorry to paint with such a wide brush.
Criticism should be tempered with more reason.

Hubs had to run errands around the other Lowes yesterday, asked him to stop and see if they had either ones I was looking for. He gave me a name Iv never heard of, so I did a search and the only thing popping up was an Ice Plant. He kept telling me they were Coral Bells. Finally asked for a pic, nyeah it was an Iceplant. haha Gotta love him for checking :).

NJBob, you are right, was awhile back when I had seen them. He found Coffee Bean but it really doesnt look anything like your pic. What do you think? Mislabeled?

Citronelle has been an oddity here...thinking it needs to be moved to the second bed in pics. Greeeeennnnn then wam! Odd neon yellow plant! Needs to move beds me thinks ;)

Amanda mine is in full sun that might be the difference, all 3 pics in the data base look different. But I hope your Lowe's is not like the one here they mis- mark so many of their plants. Citronelle has done best for me in a bright area but no direct sunlight just burns to much but in full shade it withers away.

Jo Ann no worries from what I hear my store is not the normal way things go . We just happen to have more people that care about and for the plants then others I guess.
