Here are a couple of small urns from Ross store, no drainage so I water sparingly and keep them under the patio cover so the rain won't soak them.

What a great idea Sue. I have a few really great diplay type pieces but they don't have drainage. I never thought about doing they way you have done.
Are the Semps in your picture tectorium? They are so hardy and forgiving.

No name on this semp but it was pretty. Never got any pups on it so once it bloomed, it was a goner.

Many people don't realize they are better buying a smaller/young plant when it comes to the Semps. If an adult is purchased makes sure it already has chicks, then you know it will carry on after blooming. I learned that one from Squaw Mountain Gardens. He was very helpful.

Not sure which ones they are Lynn, they were untagged.

This is one of my favorite sedums in my favorite mixed bowl.

Here's a bowl with a silver sedum mixed in with various succulents. I don't like to add plant tags to bowls so am not sure what this one is. I added a few sea shells I collected off a beach.

Sue those are really pretty! Love the color of the blue pot in your 2nd post above. The combos in the last two are excellent!

Here's another container idea, but you'd need to protect it from the rains again as it doesn't have any drainage. This was taken at the Calif. Cactus Center in Pasadena, made to resemble a Monet water garden.

And another one of theirs. I am going to be adding glass to future combos, I love that look!

I have 2 strawberry pots with succulents. One's the base for a birdbath (currently too dirty to post a photo!) This one makes a great base for my garden ball. Some of the plants took a hit this winter, so I've got a couple of holes to fill. Darn....I'll have to shop....

Sue, these are all beautiful. The sedum in post #115594 is Ogon. It is so beautiful, one of my favorites also, except I don't have very good luck with it. I think I have figured it out finally. I will only plant in a special well draining mix from now on. Our PNW wet season is very hard on it.
Post #115603 the sedum at the front of the bowl looks like it could be Blue Spruce, it gets a very blue/green color in summer.
I am going to try the glass this year, what a great idea. That is so attractive. I would never have thought about doing that.
Janet, I am so sad that you will have to go shopping. Chin up, you can do it. Unless you wait just a little and some of us will have plants to trade. To early just yet with the way the weather has been. Is that the Ghost Plant in the last post?
Seeing all these pictures makes me want to get out and start planting pots.
Greenfield and I are going to a native plant sale tomorrow, hope I can find some Sedum oreganum.

That glass is beautiful! I had seen the round or half-round pieces used before but not the "cut" glass - both are pretty.

Cute chicken! Looks like it's been around for a while - it's so pretty with the plants hanging down the sides.

Yes, the chicken has a long and colorful past.....I bought a big rock tumbler to turn old bottles into fake beach glass to use as mulch in my plants. I probably haven't saved enough to pay for the tumbler yet, but it's fun anyway!

I like the birdbath. My mom has one with a crack in it. It won't hold water. It would be perfect for planting!

Yes, it would make a great succulent planter. Be sure you take a picture and post it when you a finished planting it. Can't wait to see it.

Here is my first bowl planted this year. Doesn't look like much now but wait a couple of months and it will come to life. I will add a couple more sedum besides the Sedum oreganum you see in the front of the bowl.
