Well, just look at you, Lynn. They look great. I went to find some Semps today, but Louisiana nursery only had one. She said they were having trouble getting them. Guess I'll have to make another trip to Home Depot. And I did get the one she had (the one on the right Sempervivum tectorum) and 2 of the Sedum spurium 'Red Carpet'.

Very pretty. Thumbs up I ran into the same thing today, just a few semps (NOID), only one that was named (Sunset), I already have that one. Sedum Autumn Joy, I already have that one. So I got the tender perennial succulents. Big Grin

Wow!
You all have some fantastic looking plantings and unique looking containers. Great job everyone!
I hope to work on some of mine today and tomorrow. I will try and get some pics when I get the time of them
when they are finished.

But for now...I was thinking of you yesterday Lynn. I was at Schereiner's Iris gardens yesterday and found
these plantings in the gift shop. I took a few pics and thought I would share them with you. The price tag was
a bit high for me since I knew I could put a few together myself.

One more...
The gardens are just beginning to show their beauty but we need some warm weather and another week for them
to really pop with color. I will be making another visit next week to see how much they have grown.

Be still my heart!! Oh Kin, thank you so much for those pictures. $89.00, I think I am in shock, but oh so pretty. What great containers. Think you can post some of them in the Container Database with date and place info? Those are just wonderful.
Maybe that is what I will do for Mother's Day tomorrow, camera in hand and hit the nurseries for pictures. Hurray! Thumbs up Big Grin
Thanks for the idea, didn't know what I wanted to do tomorrow. Now I do. Big Grin

How exciting Debbie. Is that a Cebanese sempervivum bottom right? Hard to tell from the photo. What are they?
Okay, I am going to have to start a database for tender succulents, I can see the writing on the wall right now. Rolling on the floor laughing

I was going to list them all like I did the ones the other day, but you didn't list yours, so I didn't know if I was supposed to list mine. Rolling on the floor laughing I was going to try to enter some of them in the database, but I'm too new to know where they go. Confused Blinking I will list the names of them later tonight. I'm on a break from spreading soil and mulch. Wheww!! And I had a perfect spot for my little collection. It is on the edge of my concrete porch and I thought it would get enough sunlight there. But it doesn't look like it will, soooooooo, back to the drawing board.

That will be great Lynn, thank you so much.

I found this awesome link in my search to understand the many varieties of 'Other Succulents'. These are the types that I have been able to purchase at Home Depot. http://www.smgrowers.com/produ...

Plants like the Echeveria, Crassula, Graptoveria, Haworthia,Kalanchoe,Pachyphytum, etc. Man, there are alot of different succulents. Wow.

Nice plants, Debbie!

Well, I did work on several container's and thought I would post a few pics.
These are old Ceramic Electrical Insulators.
One is planted with Cape blanco and the other is an Echeveria with various sedums in the lower tiers.
I need to keep them under cover until we get to our dry season because the insulators don't have any
drainage.

Those are awesome Kin. I have an insulator just like that. I've been using it for water for birds and butterflies. Been thinking about having DH drill holes for drainage, not sure yet if I want to do that.

I bought the sedums at Lowe's they came in trays and you cut them up to whatever size you want. They came in trays 20''X10'' and were called "garden tiles"
A close view of the variety

Funny you should say that because the lower tier will be filled with water during the summer for bees, butterflies.
I tried once to drill a hole in one of them and it was next to impossible ...I feared I was going to break them, and gave up. Big Grin
